Owner description: The green drapes from "Gone with the Wind" are one of the many interesting items on display at this 22-room Italianate-style home. Built in 1857, the mansion now exhibits period furnishings and also includes items from the estate of flamboyant entertainer Liberace.

“A bit pricey”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

My family enjoyed the tour but it is a bit pricey, especially in comparison to the other home tours in the area. It is nice to learn about the history but I probably won't tour it again. This house is very well kept up and everything in the home is lovely.

“Absolutely Amazing”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Although this is currently a privately owned home, it is open to the public. It is filled with period pieces and articles of interest from Gone With The Wind

“What a let down”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

I love history and architecture. I was so excited to see such a wonderful piece of architecture that hasnt been torn down. I was even more excited to get inside and whisk myself back in time.

Once inside, you are greeted with a person who seems to be speaking in a memorized tone. It was like listening to a 5th grader give a report that had to be memorized. It was very cold. Even when he tried using a sense of humor, it was dry. We lost interest because you couldnt tell if he was reading the memorized script in his head or making a joke. If you are going to be talking about period items and history...at least know your facts. They didnt seem to know to much about the history other than what was on the script they were told to memorize.

I would NOT go back. It cost $12.75 to get in the house. The house only had two original pieces from the time it was built. A lot of the pieces didnt seem to fit the period and the servants quarters were nothing like they would have been when the house was built. Very disappointed.

It is a privately owned home that only shows you some of the house and not the entire house. It felt like they didnt want you there, so you were rushed from room to room and not really allowed to ask questions. The questions I asked werent answered with correct information, if any information at all. They would just brush you off to the next room or area if they didnt know the answer.

I would not recommed the tour, if you are looking for a true historical feel of what the house might have felt like when the house was in its glory. You wont get it and you'll come away feeling jipped.

“Girl's Get Away”

The mansion is lovely, but the experience is over priced. The home is over filled with the owners stuff, some of which are movie props.

“Sunday Visit”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

During a weekend visit we decided to stop by and see what the Belvedere Mansion had to offer. Well is was just so so. The greeter was friendly enough and had some interesting facts about the mansion. The mansion is filled with antiques to the brim. Not my cup of tea.
