After a long day of shopping and tons of crowds for Halloween weekend, we ended up at the Green Street Tavern for lunch. Located in the DeSoto Hotel, it was busy and...loud. Entering from the street is highly confusing. There's no greeting station, but we literally ran into a waiter, whom we asked if we seat ourselves. No! Okay, party of 2. We were taken to a table in the back room and seated next to the most obnoxious bridal shower ever. Never have seen so much alcohol on one table and the volume from that group alone... Yikes! 10 minutes after we were seated, a server came to take our drink order. Diet Coke and water. Delivered 10 minutes later. Then 10 minutes after that, she came back and took our lunch order. Fish tacos and chicken quesadilla. 25 minutes later, lunch appeared from a different server. No drink refills (ever). My fish tacos were horrible. Bland and cold. Never again! The chicken quesadilla was average but edible. Our original server wasn't to be seen again until a different server from the last two brought our bill and we asked if we could see a dessert menu, since lunch was half eaten. That server apparently couldn't get it for us, so she tracked down our original server, who stopped by 10 minutes later and said "um, I think there's cheesecake?" Ok great. Another 15 minutes went by - burned raspberry cheesecake dropped on the table. No drink refills (again). Another 10 minutes. A new bill. Are you seeing a pattern? Finally after TWO HOURS, we were finally done with lunch and on our merry way. I could get past the very dated decor and the lack-of-personality wait staff. But 2 hours for lunch? No. It's not like this was fine dining! Never again.
