My husband and I have been to numerous B&Bs across the country, including several in Galena, and The Steamboat House is one of our favorites. We've just completed our fifth weekend stay and are already looking forward to returning next year. The innkeepers have done a wonderful job restoring the historic house including main floor common areas and lovely guest rooms. Each room is uniquely charming and decorated with careful attention to the smallest detail. The Innkeepers are helpful and very knowledgeable regarding local restaurants and events. The evening wine and cheese hour is a great time to learn more about the history of the house, the community and swap travel stories with fellow guests. And the breakfasts...the fabulous breakfasts. Great food served using fine china and beautiful crystal in a lovely Victorian dining room. It's truly a wonderful place for a weekend getaway.
