We stayed here for a short get away in the lodge in a room. The grounds are well kept, the golf courses look good for those that enjoy golfing, the place is clean,, and the resort seems to have most of what you would want without having to leave if you don't want to. I don't recommend biking unless you are use to mountain biking, plus the brakes are worn. It is fairly hilly close to the resort and the ride at your own risk resulted in a fall with substantial injury for one of our family members. It is fairly quiet/peaceful, but a little pricey for what you get. We might stay here if we came back, but I think we would be more apt to try a bed and breakfast or something a little more historic for the same or lower price. The rooms are nice, but not "modern" in décor. We would have liked a refrigerator in the room without having to pay more.

I am not a big resort person and prefer boutique hotels, but I enjoyed everything about Eagle Ridge. It had something for everyone in our group - golfing, fishing, hiking, biking and yet didn't feel like a crowded resort. We enjoyed canoeing and paddle boating on the lake. My only complaint is that we couldn't bring our own kayaks due to the private lake association rules so we used the resort canoes instead which were fine. Our courtyard room was nice, clean, comfortable and quiet with a pretty view of the lake. We enjoyed relaxing on our balcony and on the deck of the resort in the adirondack chairs with our coffee. Wish the rooms had a mini fridge but all we had to do was ask. Service all-around was great from the door man and front desk to the boat/pool staff and housekeeping. Everyone was so friendly! The grounds are beautiful and inviting. I like that the resort is pet-friendly and look forward to returning with our pup.

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms on top/3rd floor seem quieter. You can get to the Courtyard 3rd floor from the elev...

Stayed here over the long holiday weekend and had a wonderful time. It was truly a relaxing weekend at a fantastic resort with extremely accommodating and nice staff. Highly recommend it for a weekend away from reality.

Stayed over the fourth. Last minute decision so we relied on the AAA discount. Beautiful room. Slept well on the comfy beds. Happy to have a deck so we could have our morning coffee outdoors. Rode the bikes-demanding hills on the bike paths. Bikes could use some service. Spent an hour on the paddle boat on the lake. Enjoyed the fireworks, compliments of the wedding party staying at the inn. Didn't have to go into town for them. We don't golf but the courses looked beautiful and well kept. Lingered over cocktails on the outdoor patio. Couldn't have been happier with the dinner experience. Missed an outdoor pool and tennis courts. Our compliments to Russ, the doorman. He was very helpful. We'll be back with the kids next time.

Room Tip: We asked for and got a room a view of the lake and woods. We stayed on the third floor so had to wa...

We spent 3 nights here over a long weekend. This is probably our 10th visit here and each time the resort gets better. Our one bedroom villa is perfect as we have a dog and even though she's quiet, I have peace of mind that she doesn't disrupt others. The front desk even gave the pooch a care bag at check-in that included gourmet dog biscuits, doggie bottled water, a stuffed eagle toy and the all important plastic bag for clean up!
The villa is clean and well appointed. We laughed at how often we received replacement towels and coffee. It was a pleasure to be taken care of. The Sunday brunch is perfect. The food is plentiful and varied and best of all, incredibly good! The setting is beautiful and relaxing. The service attentive but not overly so that you feel your privacy is at risk.
Overall, yes, it's pricey to stay there but you get what you pay for.

My husband and I stayed here on a long weekend visit to Galena. The resort itself was beautiful and we found the staff friendly and helpful. Like others, we enjoyed the grounds surrounding the resort and were able to enjoy some nice walks in the woods. A big plus for us was our ability to bring our dog along on the trip. The room itself was average. We stayed in the hotel in a single room facing the woods. It had a small but nice deck area. The bath tub was on the smaller side. A family with children stayed in the room above us and we could hear the children running and playing in the room. You may consider asking for a top floor unit for this reason. The room was comfortable, but lacked the higher end finishes I would have expected for the price.

Room Tip: I agree with others who have recommended a room with a lake view. Also consider asking for a top flo...

On June 22 2013, we had our daughter's wedding at Eagle Ridge many of the guest arrived a few days before, we had 220 guests from Chicago. Our guest wouldn't stop talking about the resort. And telling us it was the most beautiful wedding they ever attended.WE owe a special thank you to the chef and his staff! The food was excellent, the meat was like butter, complements to the HEAD CHIEF. Kelsea Brown our wedding sales manager could not do enough for us. Hands up to Pam Homan, banquet manager, for changing our floor plan on patio point, which was more beautiful than I could image. They both did an excellent job. And to the whole staff at eagle ridge, they couldn t do a better job. And for the spa, what a job they did on our hair and make up. Everyone was more than pleased. The gift shop knew we needed stands for our pictures, and within seconds they had them for us. I give this hotel more than 5 stars. Everyone who attended said they will diffidently go back. Thank You Eagle Ridge for giving my daughters dream come true wedding. Compliments to the doormen who everyone could not wait to be greeted by! On Friday the men had a golf outing and raved about the conditions of the courses as well as the stellar service.
