We enjoyed our stay at Moonpenny Cottage at the Lazy Daisys. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. Although only three of us actually stayed at the cottage, we had family members visiting. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made a couple of meals at home. We also ordered from the local Indian takeaway in Penistone, which was great. We had a wonderful day out at Cannon Hall Farm and enjoyed the tea room there along with the farm animals, the museum, and the beautiful gardens. Definitely recommend that as a day out.
Having laundry onsite was very helpful once we figured out where it was, as this was the end of a longer trip. We had some trouble locking the door and then opening it again, but all in all not bad. We found the wifi to be patchy while using it on our phones, but I consistently got access on my computer. Wouldn't expect incredible wifi in this rural location!
Views outside the front window were great -- especially when the cows were out and about! Sally was very kind to give us a tour of the farm which my three-year-old enjoyed. The eggs we bought from Sally were great, along with the honey.
Four adults and two children spent three wonderful days on a working farm last week.
Farmer Andrew and his wife Sally were so welcoming and wanting us to see at first hand how they go about there day to day life as a farming family.
I can honestly say its been an education and a wonderful experience, Lambs being born and newly born calves each day we were there.
Fabulous location and scenery, great for walkers and photographers.
Will certainly be returning for another holiday there.
