“Very educational.”

Lincoln Douglas Debate Square
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We attended this when it was the groundbreaking reinactment. COOL! It's in a downtown location with an excellent ice cream ship called Union Dairy right next door. Visit this in the summer months and enjoy a cone while you see the Debate square.

This is the place where the second Lincoln Douglas debate was held. Very well worth while seeing. And when you finish - The Union Dairy ice cream store is just a short walk across the parking lot

but combine it with a stop at the Union Dairy, and retail store at Furst McNess Co for the full on Freeport experience.

If you like Lincoln history then you have to stand at one of his more famous debate spots. After taking some great pictures you can go across the parking lot and eat at Union Dairy original 50's icecream parlor.
