Boutique Hotel Kentrikon
Ranked #1 of 3 Hotels in Agios Ioannis

The moment you walk into The Kentrikon you feel like you've come home. The staff are so welcoming and friendly that you instantly feel part of their family. The hotel itself is just gorgeous. Breakfast was fantastic as were the cocktails! We had the most beautiful view of the Agean Sea from our room. If you are going to this amazing corner of Greece, do not hesitate to stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Try and book a lower room.....the steps are a killer! :-)

I recently stayed here for my Nephews wedding. I shared a room with my sister and we both loved it. The staff were lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough to help. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was pleanty to choose from in a continental style. Just ask and if it is posible you would be given! The wedding was faultless with the planner doting and crossing all events to perfection. Forget Bob the builder, if anyone can Dimetri can. Even fixed my Nieces little boys pram. All the restraunts were good in the area and we were made so at home there. Loved it.

My wife and I were married at Papa Nero Beach on 4 July 2012, and stayed at the Boutique Hotel Kentrikon between 29 June - 6 July 2012.

This was the second time we had visited the Kentrikon, having last visited Agios Ioannis in May 2011. We were so impressed with the hotel when we visited the first time that we couldn't wait to tell all of our friends and family about it when we arrived home. This really built up their expectations prior to their arrival in Greece, and there was not a single one of our 53 guests who were disappointed with the accommodation afterwards!!

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, and is ideally located in Agios Ioannis. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, all of which serve the most delicious Greek cuisine!! The hotel is literally less than 50 meters away from the sea front (so close that you can actually hear the sea when you wake up in the morning), and is also very close to both Papa Nero Beach (where we were married) and Plaka Beach.

The rooms in the hotel are, in my opinion, far superior to any of the rooms that you are likely to find in other hotels throughout Greece. The views from the standard / superior rooms are simply stunning. Just imagine waking up in the morning to see the sunrise over the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea, the sky all different shades of red and orange, and sunlight dancing off the waves like light hitting the world's biggest aquamarine diamond!! Believe me, this description still does not do adequate justice to the breathtaking beauty of the view!!

We stayed on a B&B basis, and again I have to say that not a single one of our guests was disappointed with the Breakfast on offer. There were freshly cooked eggs, bread & homemade jam (delicious!!), a selection of croissants, pain au chocolats and cakes, ham and cheese, cereals and fresh fruit, selection of teas, fruit juices and coffee - pretty much something for everyone (which is no small feat for 53 guests)!! The breakfast is served in the SkyBar, which is an absolutely gorgeous, quaint and intimate setting.

At night, the SkyBar came alive with music, laughter and cocktails!! It was the perfect place to meet up for a drink before heading off to one of the various fantastic restaurants in Agios Ioannis, and to finish off the night with a few 'quiet' cocktails!! Dimitris is an absolute magician when it comes to making cocktails (the Strawberry Daiquiris were ace!!) Every single one of our guests had a smashing time!!

The hospitality we received from all of the staff at the hotel was simply faultless. My wife and I were welcomed back to the hotel like family, and each one of our guests received the same courtesy. Lily and Violet were just so wonderful with all of us throughout our stay, making sure that we had everything we needed. Vasia and Avra were amazing. And Alexis, Dimitris, Tom and Dimitris were outstanding again!!

Agios Ioannis is heaven. It is Greece's very own secret paradise hideaway, and God's gift to the world!! THIS is the REAL GREECE. Nowhere in the world will you find such a perfect balance between lush green mountains, clear blue sea and gorgeous beaches. It is the perfect place to escape from the mundaneness of everyday life, and to experience real Greek hospitality, real Greek cuisine, and real Greek sunshine.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We have so many happy memories from our 2 stays here, and we will certainly return as often as possible!! I hope that after having read this review, you will visit the Boutique Hotel Kentrikon in Agios Ioannis, and will make your own special memories too.

Our room was not renovated and in good condition. Many things in the room were from IKEA and this is not for a 3star hotel!
The polite owner told us that will renovate all the rooms next year.
The breakfast is just a small buffet with the usuals and 2-3 handmade pies.Sure it is not the best breakfast ever as i read in another review.
Pay attention to the stairs(up to 110!!) at rooms after number 221
They clean the room every day!
You can see the photos for detailed view of the room

Room Tip: Prefer rooms in the first level with only 30 steps-no lift!

Having recently visited Agios Ioannis for my Brothers wedding the first thing I have to say is......I WOULD LIVE THERE IF I COULD!!!! Without a doubt the most stunning place I have ever been and will probably ever go! Quite possibly one of Greeces best kept secrets!! As for the Boutique Hotel Kentrikon, this family run Hotel is by far the most gorgeous place to want to spend a week or two! Everything there was perfect,
The staff...who went above and beyond to make the guests feel welcome,
The rooms, which range in size and price depending on the number of guests, however even the cheapest rooms are of a high standard with an absolutely breathtaking view!
Breakfasts.....which included croissants, fruit and even chocolate cake!
And the decor throughout the Hotel is just stunning! However I would advice against leaning on the shelves that hold the ornaments, as they will fall, as my Dad discovered, not once, but twice! Sorry again for that guys! But one of the best and most gorgeous places to be in the evenings is down in the Sky Bar sipping a cocktail and enjoying the gorgeousness that surrounds this Hotel!
As for the area around the Hotel, again it's just absolutely perfect! And unlike anywhere I'd been before.....theres no Irish Bar, no full English Breakfasts, just incredible beaches and local resteraunts and bars. And again the locals are just so kind and will go out of their way to make you happy! For example one evening we asked for ice cream for our son after we had eaten, and rather than tell me they were out of ice cream he went out to buy a tub of ice cream from the shops, we only know this because we seen him running back through the resteraunt carrying the ice cream tub 10 minutes later! Incredible hospitality! People from the resteraunts were even stopping us in the street to pass on wedding gifts to the happy couple!
Since returning from the holiday I have been advising everyone I know whos engaged to go get married in Agios Ioannis and to have Tom Gray from Mamma Mia weddings as their wedding planner! He was absolutely superb and did everything he could possibly do to make the wedding perfect, and it was! We'll always be so grateful to him and the rest of the staff at the Hotel, and even the locals for making my Brothers wedding and the holiday an unforgetable experience! Thank you all so much! Will definately be returning in a few years time!

Situated just behind the beach front in the village of Agios Ioannis, Pelion lies this amazing jewel of a boutique hotel. Following a spectacular drive from the major town of Volos our wedding party of 50 guests were greeted by the helpful and friendly family who attended to all our needs; well above and beyond the call of duty.

The quality and sizes of the rooms vary considerably depending on your budget with a number of very high quality suites available. The main guest rooms were first class. This is a relatively small establishment which is set on a number of levels. This could be an issue for the more elderly. The upper levels have great views. The air-con was a life-saver especially with the temperatures in the early 30’s. There was internet access, tv’s, hi-fi’, tea & coffee facilities and hairdriers all readily available in each room.

The fulcrum of the hotel is the well appointed and beautifully decorated SKY bar and lounge which serviced guests for meals and drinks (especially the cocktails). The breakfasts were all home and freshly made on site by the staff. The smell of the home baked bread and croissants in the early morning set our tummies rumbling,

Cleanliness is the buzz-word for this hotel but the hospitality is of the highest quality. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for the staff during our stay and Dimitris made sure our sizable party was extremely well looked after (this man fixed everything for us ha ha!).

Once out of the hotel you can find the beach just 50 metres away with 2 No sun beds with an umbrella for 5 euros per day. There are a number of local bars and restaurants just a very short walk away which serve all price ranges with excellent fresh meat and fish dishes aplenty suitable for all budgets. However, it was the friendliness of the local people who really left their mark. Fantastic.

A great BIG thanks to Tom Gray (our tremendous Wedding Planner), Dimitris, Violet and the rest of the staff at the Kentrikon for providing us with such a great welcome for our daughter’s wedding at Papa Nero beach. The affection and friendliness from one family to another embellished the occasion. The resort and the Papa Nero beach location were truly ideal and provided an intimate backdrop that graced the event. The local people and the businesses opened their arms to the whole wedding party and treated one and all like royalty, making each and every one of us feel so welcome during our stay. One complaint: we didn't stay long enough.
