I 've been to a number of Japanese steakhouse' s, and my family and love them. Shoguns on the other hand fell short of our expectations. It think it is one that has suffered from being a chain. The food just isn't as good and Your somewhat hurried. As for the food , three words, too much sake. I like sake but the flavor is drowned in it. This was the same on to accusations with to different cooks. I give them a three because it is possible to still have some fun with family or friends watching the cook fix your meal.
