When we first moved to evanston, five years ago, this was a reasonable place for getting a vegetarian meal. Since then, however, the quality has dropped significantly. A few months ago: a pasta salad made of dry pasta (not even of a good quality) with just enough vegetables to garnish the top. This week (we thought we'd give them one more chance): risotto cakes accompanied by mushrooms from a can (can it get lower than that?), beet that looked like a dead animal's liver on scant tasteless greens. Neither of the entrees was good, surely not good enough to justify the price. We did not even finish from the plate.

It's difficult to find restaurants which serve no oil vegan fare. So Blind Faith is a rarity in that you have a choice of several dishes which meet this dietary requirement. In addition to being deliciously prepared, it's very attractively presented, as befits the most upscale restaurants. And what's more amazing is that there are things on the menu which my decidedly non-vegan grandchildren enjoyed. Highly recommend. It's become one of my favorites when out in the Evanston area.

Vegan? Vegetarian? Just like great food? This is the place for you! My personal favorite is Barbeque Seitan - the sauce is so good, but be sure to ask for extra napkins as the sandwich is stuffed with the BBQ and a tasty homemade coleslaw, and comes with sweet potato fries - yum! Reservations are often needed for Sunday brunch. Enjoy!

Dined here for lunch in Aug. 2012. Service was excellent, and our food was completely delicious and satisfying. I had the verde enchilades, and they were fabulous. Our hummous appetizer was also great; it disappeared immediately. My husband had a thai noodle dish that wasn't up to the level of our other three entrees, but everything else was sooo good. His wasn't bad, just not great.
