Don't go here if you just want a drink inside as there are only half a dozen bar stools and all the tables are for dining only.. There is a large beer garden which would be fine in the summer. We only popped in to kill a bit of time as we were early for booking in at a hotel nearby and it was a Sunday so maybe it's different during the week. Having said that, the food that was being served looked very appetising and might have been a good choice had we been eating.

Took my mum out for lunch, great food, good staff and good value. Do regret not ordering one of the fish dishes, the ones coming out looked well cooked, maybe next time

Myself and my husband visited lunchtime. We have frequented this restaurant for at least the last 25 years, just together or part of a larger family group and had always received excellent service and food. It was busy, but not overly. We were seated quickly with drinks and menus arriving promptly as always. Unfortunately we were then just left to sit there, as no-one came to take our orders. One of the waitresses stood at the bar, looking over several times. Eventually after nearly 30 minutes my husband approached the bar, to place our order, but was acknowledged and told she would be with us shortly. At this point we were very close to walking out. Nearly 5 minutes later, our order was taken. Even the meal seemed to take longer to arrive. I had steak and I have certainly had alot better. Otherwise the meal was ok. The other thing that was different - nobody came over and asked if our meal was alright. We have never not been asked before. We left shortly after eating our meal . Needless to say we didnt leave a tip - another first. Sorry but we were really disappointed.

Just had an early dinner, the food as always was excellent. We both had fillet steak, and I have to say you will not beat it anywhere in the area. Well done Nicola and her staff, always very welcoming and attentive.
