A good budget option although noisy renovations will ruin your stay for the next 6 months. Amazing view of the valley particularly from room 204. Clean and basic. Close to a tea plantation which was good and Ramboda Falls which was nice after a steep overgrown hike. Food and service was ok but took time. English standard minimal. Fridge would be good seeing as though they don't provide cold drinks.

Room Tip: Room 204 is the biggest and has the best view.

We had a memorable stay at Thuruliya Lodge in December 2013. Views that we got from the Thuruliya Lodge including the view of the Mountains & Valley, Waterfalls and the Kotmale Reservoir were unbelievably beautiful. The Sunset we watched from the room was magnificent (see the photos I have added to the website). Thuruliya Lodge was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed during a holiday in Sri Lanka. Our room was very clean and spacious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Room 104 has the best views of the Water Falls.

Our one night stay at Thuruliya Lodge, Ramboda was a pleasant one. Staff was friendly and helpful. Magnificent sceneries outside the hotel and the views from the room window was great. Food was delicious. Only minus points for this hotel is there were no heaters or air conditioning in the rooms at the time we went there and hotel exterior was not that pleasing though the surroundings looked magnificent.

Room Tip: Magnificent sceneries from the room windows.

Only stayed here one night on our Sri Lankan tour. Selected the hotel because of its position and views. We were well impressed with staff and the size and quality of the room. All very clean.

The bed and pillows are so comfy that we had our best night sleep so far. The shower does run out of hot water but that was only because I loved it so much I stayed in it for a long time.

Read other readers comments on the fact food is brought in from elsewhere and you have to order in advance (from a very extensive menu).....really does it matter where their kitchen is? They do have a four table breakfast / dining room with superb views of the entire valley. We actually had dinner delivered to our room and very tasty and plenty of it it was. Nothing was too much trouble as when my wife decided she would love some toast and butter with het sweet and sour prawns that was brought to our room in a matter of minutes.

Was everything perfect? No it never is. The sound proofing of the building could be better, we had room 101 opposite reception and with people in and out we could hear some noise but to be fair we did have a very quiet night as staff is extremely considerate. To be on the safe side next time I would ask for a room away from reception. A general problem for any place you stay in is upkeep. Chipped paint, mouldy bathroom sealant...there are signs of it but nothing anywhere near disturbing.

Ohhhhh and how about the view, which is why we stayed here in the first place......well let me put it this way. Why make use of satellite tv and very good speed internet in the room when all you need to do is sit down in the comfy chair in front of the window and simply enjoy the magnificent 180 degree view filled with hilltops, tea plantations, rice fields, waterfall, lake and the dome of a giant temple that is first to get lit up by the rising sun.

Off to Yala national Park now for two days, hoping for a different but equally good experience.

Room Tip: Suggest a room away from reception. We had room 101 right at the entrance. We can imagine reception...

Stayed one night at this hotel. The room was big with a stunning view. It was far away from everything else. The food we ordered (2 hours in advance) tasted good but gave me food poisning so there was not much sleep. The cleaning can be improved. The sound proofing could also be better.
It feelt like a night in a hostel. The staff was nice and helpful.

I spent one night at this hotel on my way to Nuwara Eliya and you can easily find this place. The best thing about this hotel is that it is situated in a great location of Ramboda. The views from the room were fabulous. On one end you could see a beautiful waterfall and from far you could see Kothmale reservoir. The rooms are clean and tidy and Internet connection is also fast. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and tasty. However this place doesn't have a restaurant and they get whatever you order from outside. So sometimes you might not find your preferred items if you do not order early. And also if you prefer to eat outside, there are few small hotels in the Ramboda town which is about 1km away. One thing to remember is that if you make a direct booking, they will tell you the prices excluding the service charges. And also hot water supply is not so great as it takes time to heat water. So if one pearson takes a shower, better to wait at least 20 mins for water to get heated.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the left most corners from where you can see a beautiful waterfall and fabulous mo...
