I' ve visited this hotel 3 times. And I hope I will visit it again. Last time I spent 1 night on the 31st of January.
I can't even explain you the feelings while viewing that breathtaking landscape. If you are hiker, this is the best combination of opportunity of being in hotel and hiking.
The hotel is good. Prices will surprise you))) everything is ok. Not perfect, but ok.
Every time visiting this hotel I dream to come back and spend at least about a week.
It also has natural swimming pool in the fall.
The main disadvantage which never escapes ( can't understand reason) - hair in the food. I find this disgusting. Once I told chef about this problem( it was in August 2011), but he just asked me what they can make for us? I told that I want to eat clean food without somebody's hair. So this year nothing changed.

Stayed at this hotel following a visit to the Elephant Orphanage. The views are breathtaking.
Nice clean hotel. The evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff were very welcoming. Try and get a room overlooking the falls. You can walk down a set of stairs virtually into the mouth of the waterfalls.
The bar area is also very welcoming with a 3/4 size snooker/billiards table to use a very reasonable rates.

At first glance, this hotel should seem to be host to a perfect Nuwara Eliya getaway. Unfortunately, it isn't. I agree with many of the other reviewers here, we stayed for two nights and the rooms reeked (of 'wet dog', as my sister eloquently put it). The food was poor and highly overpriced — seafood soup seemed stale, curries lacklustre and Christmas cakes disgraceful. All of this is made worse when you realize you can get mouthwatering food in town for half the price. Hot water is only available for a few hours in the day (we came back from a long walk in the nearby Horton Plains to find that the showers were freezing, and the unhelpful management did very little to right it, blatantly explaining that they turn the heater off to [sic] 'save money').

We booked two "deluxe" rooms for our stay with no proper ventilation, and get this, no windows! The only sliver of sunlight comes in through the door. As humans, we're hard-wired to appreciate light. With white fluorescent bulbs and no windows, the rooms are truly depressing.

BUT, the building does overlook a spectacular waterfall — if you can put up with the stay.

Room Tip: If you're set on staying here, choose a Chalet — the other rooms are dingy at best...

Great location but stuffy rooms make a stay here more of a countdown to checkout than a holiday. Management seems to be focussed on cutting costs - hot water made available only afringgit low up calls to the reception .
Location is scenic but since is out of the way - better to have your own transportation while staying here.
Will not recommend this to anyone

The main problem in this hotel is that the bathrooms smell, especially after one flushes the toilet. The public spaces in this hotel is not clean as it has many open areas and needs diligence to keep clean everyday. However, the Deluxe rooms are clean, as are the bathrooms. The staff are friendly and the food very average.

Room Tip: Chalets looked livable
