Rosaleen and Johnny are very welcoming hosts. The accommodation was lovely and warm with delicious food. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location is wonderfully quiet with nice gardens. I highly recommend this B&B.

thank you Rosalyn & Johnny for a spirited, fun stay! I love my teacup, which was kindly given to me as a memento of our visit. I hope to see some future work from the skilful artist in the house! Thank you and bless you, Tim & Nancy

Rosaleen was the perfect hostess. Couldn't do enough to help us. John was chief Chef serving up an excellent breakfast for us all. (Fantastic artist by the way). Hopefully we will be seeing more of them and their great farmhouse in the future. Will definately be back. Great to meet a farming family.

Room Tip: All rooms are really good. You won't be disappointed.

Reasons we had a fabulous stay at Oakfield Guest House:
1. Rosaleen and John. Rosaleen couldn't do enough to make sure we were full and entertained, just like your favorite Aunt. John was handy and hilarious- gotta love the Irish humour.
2. Gorgeous bedroom. New and clean, quietly furnished in golds and greens that matched the sun on the sumptious garden.
3. Location. Far enough out that you feel you're really in the countryside, but close enough to civilization that the Tannery, a gorgeous pub/steakhouse, was a 10 minute drive away.
4. Breakfast. It was the most entertaining, delicious parade through a real Irishman's breakfast that I've ever had. The porridge, the muesli, the bread, the eggs, the bacon, the coffee (heaven forbid we declined the tea), all to die for.

And so many more! A really great time- thanks a million to our hosts. :)

Room Tip: There's also a family room that sleeps four that has it's own entrance- perfect for little k...

There is no surprise waiting for you at Oakfield guest house. It is as splendid as it appears on its informative website. Pleasant on the eye are its spacious colourful gardens, and comfortable is the accommodation that follows a quick 30 minute drive from Belfast. Leaving the grey of the motorway you enter the green of Ballinderry, which in the end you are truly sorry to be leaving behind. If rolling countryside is your thing, Ballinderry will not disappoint. Its little rural roads take you away from it all, but also lead to surrounding busy city hotspots that kept my young family heartily entertained day and night. Before you reach Belfast, just along the M1 Lisburn offers a variety of restaurants, or turn the other way and you'll soon reach the thronging centre of Portadown. Belfast itself was a great attraction for our kids. Its castle overlooks the city and hides away a challenging adventure playground. The zoo is packed full of countless jaw-dropping animals. And the exhibition at the museum had the kids enthralled. Coming back to Oakfield was as enjoyable as writing this review. One side of the modernised farm house holds three guest rooms, two dining rooms and a small but useful kitchen. Our twin room was spacious, bright and clean, and the en-suite toilet with walk-in shower was just as comfortable. The breakfast was ample and served on time and with a smile, and a large tv let the kids watch their favourite cartoons. Large grounds let the kids stretch their legs, and the views are wide, green and beautiful. The hosts attended to all of our requests with care and warmth, and we could not thank them enough when the time came to say good bye. I recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone passing through and in need of a break, and I would not hesitate to return. A great time, for little money, well spent.
