I have stayed at this Hotel many of times. I have always been treated great. The rooms are always clean. The staff are always helpful when you ask for extra pillows and towels. I like the idea that they have a safe in room. The price is very affordable. It is close to Ikea to go shopping at for great items. I have been given the Suite room at the same price as the regular room because i have stayed at the Hotel very often. I stay at this Hotel probably 4 to 5 times a year. I recommend this Hotel to anyone that is looking for a reasonable rate at all times of the year. A one place to stay and i will be returning there again soon.

When we first checked in, they put us in the smallest room available which was MAYBE 10x10 - for 2 people. The room was clean-ish. The staff didn't really seem to care much at first. We considered leaving and finding another hotel but decided to give it one more night.
The second day, the cable went out due to some workers. They couldn't get it back on in our room so they transferred us to a larger room and things were better. Although, there was hair in the shower (not mine) and the room was again only somewhat clean.
The breakfast was on par with the hotel and the location was good for our needs but I would definitely stay somewhere else in the future.

We stayed at this hotel from Aug 31 - Sep 5 while we were visitng Chicago and surroundings. When we are travelling we want a quit motel with a good service and a fair price. At first we got room 118, but the tap of the bath leaked. They gave us an other room (213) without discussion. The cleaning staff does a good job. The breakfast is not what we are used in Europe but it is extensive and enough (danish, muffins, bagles, waffles, juice, 2 cereals, coffee and toast).
When we return to Chicago we will definitely stay at this motel.

We had a conference in the area and decided to stay here rather than the place that was hosting the conference because of the huge difference in pricing and the fact that we had reservations downtown for the last part of our stay to explore downtown a bit before heading back home. We stayed two nights as we were arriving in Chicago late, our conference was very early in the morning, and we just wanted to head back somewhere to sleep after the conference before heading downtown.

Check in was quick and easy and we received a "suite" with a island that included a small fridge and microwave. The tv worked fine. The bed was super comfy. The shower was great. Some of the linens were wore, but were clean and served their purpose.

The area is nothing glamorous and there is not much to see in the area if you do not have a car with you. There is a McDonald's across the street to grab a quick bite to eat if you are hungry.

The breakfast at the hotel is very basic with muffins, donuts, cereals, juice, etc. It works fine just to get you going in the morning.

Overall, no frills place that is a good value for the price as a place to just crash while in the area.

This is an older hotel which could probably use a bit of freshening up. On arrival, they did upgrade me to a suite - king size bed and a sofa and a sort of counter with a sink, microwave and fridge. The room was clean, plenty of space, but the TV was way up high near the ceiling. It's in an okay location, a little off the main highways, next to a funeral home, across the street from a McDonald's and a Days Inn. Wifi worked fine. Continental breakfast 6-9 am - danish, muffins, one choice of cereal, waffles (looked like the frozen kind), coffee and juice. When I checked out, I asked for a receipt and they said they'd email it, but it never arrived.

The Howard Johnson is an old Microtel Inn. My checkin was delayed with problems from other guests in front of me. My room, 320 was small, but in surprisingly good condition for a Chicago hotel. Everything was clean, and there was no evidence of any mold, peeling wallpaper or other problems you typically see at budget motels. I used the wired internet and it was VERY fast, almost the same speed I get at home. They have an elevator, it was slow but acceptable. Breakfast was very basic and not very filling with bread, bagels, frozen waffles and some cereal. There are lots of other places to eat nearby including a McDonald’s across the street. The area gets very congested during evening rush hour, but is tolerable at other times. I would stay here again, the price is low, and the location is great surrounded by restaurants and about a 15 minute drive the CTA Blue line to downtown. I paid $52 + 15% tax plus a $1.50 safe charge. If you want clean basic accommodations in the O’Hare area, I highly recommend this motel.

This hotel is modern, clean, and a very good value. We had our own car so I can't comment on the shuttle. At only $50, this was a great deal for a night before an O'Hare flight. We would definitley stay here again.
