I travel on business frequently and eat my share of mediocre road food. I was staying at the Hampton just down the road from the Firefly Grill so I thought I would give it a try
It's light and airy with wood dining tables with the "Boos" label. It was pretty quiet early on a Tuesday evening. My server took my drink order promptly and was very patient and answered all my questions while I decided on my meal.
I choose the Onion ring appetizer which I really liked. The onions are sweet, not too thick and covered in a light but crispy breading. The onion is the star of this show, not the breading. It was served with 3 dipping sauces, Ranch, Honey Mustard and Ketchup. The Honey Mustard was good, but I could have drunk a quart of the Ranch dressing which had a slightly different taste then most Ranch dressings, I think it may have been dill. All were a good compliment to the onions.
Next I had a small garden salad with Ranch dressing. A nice mix of greens very fresh as if picked out of the back lot. Loved the taste and texture and served on a chilled plate.
For my main course I decided on the Portabella Mushroom and Goat Cheese pizza. A great blend of flavors, the edge of the crust had a slight taste of garlic, and the meaty mushrooms and tangy goat cheese made a great taste combination.
The prices are a little high for the area but I think that's because the ingredients are so fresh.
I was too full for desert but I really enjoyed my meal and will be back. There were several items on the menu which I would like to try.
