This is an ok place - not too many sushi options in Edwardsviile. However fish is not always the freshest. Limited wine options (organic wine has been on the menu for months but they never have it in stock). Service is usually good.

Tip 1 - If coming for lunch or weekend dinner show up a little early. Wasabi is a very small sushi restaurant. If you are coming for lunch at the standard time 12-1, you will end up with very little space to eat or maneuver. Show up early and request a table close to the door or outside or, in this small town, everyone will be listening to your conversations.

Tip 2 - Listen Closely - If you want the one thing on the menu that is better than anywhere else, order Spicy Tuna Handroll. This is so tasty. A little bit of crunch to the wrap, perfect tuna, perfect spice. They will douse anything with spicy mayor and make it taste decent but, the spicy tuna handroll is way tastier. Plus, it's a good price. I think they were around a dollar and a half for each one and they still brought me salad and hot soup with the rolls. 2 or 3 and it's a great lunch.

Tip 3 - You will be tempted after dinner to take the elevator upstairs (slowest elevator on earth, by the way, that only goes up 1 floor!!!) to the pub and grab a pint or two. Not worth it. Walk a couple blocks and belly up at another bar. The pub doesn't live up to the hype.

Not the greatest sushi on earth. Not even close. Not even best in town. But good especially if you're around the downtown area. Don't expect great service either. No one was rude but it seemed like some college students that had a lot of catching up to do.

The place was crowded and the girl taking names told us to wait outside. Seriously? So we went upstairs and called in an order. That was a much better idea.

This is a chain restaurant around these parts. The sushi is pretty good for a land-locked area. They have a decent selection of sashimi and rolls - I really like the tuna and the caterpillar roll. Service is just okay; servers are mainly college students that do not have good knowledge of the menu. Wine selection is limited. The last two times I was there the servers brought the bottle to the table already uncorked - unacceptable!
