Jacqui and her team are running one of the finest hotels in the South East of England. Guest are made very welcome and are pampered throughout their stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cosy with a homely New England decor. The restaurant crew headed by George and Chris are very attentive and go out of their way to make you feel special. The food is terrific and steaks the best outside the USA. As a frequent world traveller I can compare the market.
I like it so much that stay her almost every week travelling in from as far as Winchester.

Room Tip: I love the Beach House rooms

went to this hotel on a deal through Travelzoo. it was for afternoon tea and a spa treatment for 2. Initally i wasnt impressed as when booking we couldnt have both your treatments at the same time and they were an hour apart which meant we were waiting around for each other. this was a shame but it the end didnt spoil our day. The hotel is lovely inside and appears to have been recently refurbished. the staff were very nice and polite. We were promptly taken through to a private lounge where we waited for each other whilst we had treatments. i had a deep tissue massage and it was absolutely lovely. The afternoon tea was set in the conservatory which was beautifully set out with china. The food and service was faultless. i was very impressed with this hotel and would visit again and definatley recommend the beauty treatments and the afternoon tea.

Weekend break at the Roslin Hotel. Room was a good size, clean with all the facilities you would expect. We were in a separate annex from the main part of the hotel, sea view was limited. Quieter than being in the main Hotel and only a very short walk to the main part of the hotel, so was ideal.

Dinner at the Roslin was OK, the food was good quality but we had some issues with the service that took the edge off the meal. These issues were resolved the following day after speaking to the restaurant manager. Breakfast was very nice with the restaurant offering a beautiful view of the sea.

Sunday lunch was excellent, again beautiful view if you can get a table by the window, most tables give some sort of sea view but ones at the front do make a difference. But what really finished off our stay with a flourish was the brilliant cocktail mixoligist, Martan. Seriously delicious cocktails, from regular drinks to his own design using some very unusual combinations. If you ever go for a stay, visit the restaurant or just fancy a drink I would strongly recommend having one of Martan's specials.

Only went for afternoon tea, it was a cold and windy day outside but a lovely warm welcome inside, we were sat next to the large front window looking out over the sea front which in the summer would be very nice but found it a bit chilly on this day plus the wind was whistling in through a small gap in the glass roof, but would still go back as the service was excellent

Stayed in the Executive room with glass balcony overlooking the estuary. The hotel is in the "posh area" of Southend on Sea with great views. No traffic noise was noticeable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was very smart and popular with the local young people for afternoon tea. The hotel and room were lovely and warm. The food was great. Especially the local seafood and fish. I had the Roslin bay prawn caesar salad and the prawns were like small lobsters - really recommended.

By chance, being invited to speak there at a business luncheon, I visited this hotel for the first time. The location and excellent views are perfect for anyone getting away for a few days, just outside the centre of a major place like Southend but near enough ( know what I mean? ).
The moment I walked in i just knew that this was a good place. It's relatively small but beautifully appointed - not flashy but modern and clearly re-designed with great care. Comfortable and friendly too - that's really tricky to pull off well
I have rarely if ever had such a good lunch at a function like that. Three superb courses, the salmon of the main was seriously to die for and the rest were quite excellent. And the service was just exactly right, professional and knowledgeable, yet friendly and caring, Each of the thirty of us gathered there, I'm sure each one of us, felt looked after personally. How our splendid waiter manages that I just don't know.
Just being there was a most enjoyable experience in every regard.
