I'm a little bit afraid to write how I really feel about this place because I want to keep it as a hidden Bali gem all for myself. I honestly dream about this place more often than I should, and rightfully so. The staff is amazing and the entire resort is immaculate. The food is outstanding and the scenery? Gurl, please. The surfing (day AND night) is kept us happily entertained, in addition to lounging on the perfect poolside king-size sun beds, sipping great drinks and listening to nonstop music. I wanted to hug every employee every time we interacted - they were so genuine and accommodating. I actually expected the food/drinks to be even more expensive than they were, so go in with high expectations and you will not be disappointed.
I tried to move in, they weren't impressed with that idea, so I agreed to come back and bring only a select few people whom I deem worthy enough to experience this piece of Balinese paradise. I'll be back in July - someone have a cold Bintang waiting for me upon arrival please thanks see you soon bye.

The construction next door didnt interfer with our stay one bit however i felt that the bamboo retaining wall between ton's and ton's of gravel inches away from the path leading to the beach was extremely unsafe and at one point it had collapsed and the wall fell across the path. Luckly no one was in the facinity at the time.
Also the music was the worst, the first week we heard the same crappy 7 songs on repeat over and over... it was quite painful but was fixed when i requested please have a little more variety...
This was our first visit to Bali and I am quite happy we chose this resort. The pricey beer and constructions lack of safety didn't wreck what was an amazing experience for both of us and i would reccomend for anyone to stay here

Hi Jody

Thanks for taking the time to give us some constructive and helpful feedback and we are glad you had a memorable stay with us!

Thanks for pointing out the music issue. It appears that our iPod was inadvertently set to repeat the same 3 hour playlist over and over. Very annoying we know! We have corrected this now you pointed that out and we will try to keep a close eye on this from now on.

The issue on the gravel making the bamboo wall fall over has also been addressed and again thanks for bringing that to our attention.

On the matter of the beer price we are a bit confused as our Bintang beer price is 33,000 Rupiah plus 21% tax and service charge = 39,930 Rp. This is around $3.50 US at the moment and$3.85 Canadian $.

Not sure why you think its $7 per beer.

Any way Jody overall it seems you had a great stay and thank you for the useful feedback which we have addressed and we hope to see you again soon :)

Cheers

Tony.

Hands down Komune is the best beachclub in Bali! We usually visit this place on our lazy Sundays, just to relax, surf, eat and lounge!

My boyfriend can spend up to 3h surfing the famous Keramas wave and I can chill by the pool reading, sunbathing and drinking... Love their king size sunbeds, their mocktails and the ambiance! Prices are reasonable for the drinks and ok for the food. They do very good western food but I reckon the Indonesian needs to be a bit upgraded...their snacks are also very good!

We'll be back very soon, love this place!

The resort itself is reasonable. We brought our kids for a day trip. But the people this place attracts are the epitome of pro surfer wana be's. After the single most uncomfortable surf (even over snapper rocks on the hustle for a wave scale)we settled by the pool for food and drinks. Food was awesome but by late afternoon most had returned to the pool area and the vibe was trashy to say the least. Drunk dudes hitting on equally as loud and drunk girls. The resort itself is in the best spot with a great wave but sadly attracts the wrong crowd. Don't bother :(

Hi Becca,

Thank you for your review and firstly thanks for the kind words about our resort and the great feedback on our food.

At Komune Bali we normally receive comments that are the complete opposite of what you have made - that the vibe of the place is very chilled and relaxed. Most guests are actually couples or families and its certainly not a place for single guys and girls to meet.

We absolutely don't encourage or condone loud or drunken behaviour nor have we seen any evidence of this in the recent past and our staff and management were very surprised and quite upset by your review.

Anyway we are sorry if that was your experience and our staff will be on the lookout for any loud drunken behaviour as its not tolerated or accepted at Komune Bali and had we known, we would have immediately resolved any issue that was affecting your experience of our resort.

Recently met some long lost friends at this Beach Club for brunch and ended up having the best day/night ever! Brunch turned into late lunch which then turned into dinner and drinks, so refreshing to see some decent wine at decent prices yay! Friendly attentive staff , tasty food, good tunes and a cool relaxed vibe we just couldn't leave ! The GM Wayne is super helpful and funny ( not often you get treatment like that) and gave us a list of stuff to do around the island. We have now all decided to meet up again in a couple of months and have booked rooms here at Komune together. Its such a unique feel ..no pretentiousness ( unlike many other beach clubs in Bali) There's a cool little upper deck with pool table, sport channel and small bar with deck chairs overlooking the surf break .Its just so awesome we cannot wait to spend some more time here !

A friend and I stayed at Komune for 7 days and left smiling and feeling very relaxed.

The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and very helpful! We were treated like royalty. The food was lovely, (the desserts especially)! The rooms were kept very tidy & maintenance around the entire resort was impeccable.

The beach is beautiful, with black sand and much cleaner than other beaches in surrounding areas.
I will definitely be looking at staying at Komune again when returning to Bali for a future holiday!
