Description: Station 343 opened in August of 2012 and is the focal point of Historic Main Street in Dwight, IL. Station 343 was named in honor of the 343 Firefighters and Paramedics that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. Station 343 establishes the atmosphere of a fire station. Complete with a vintage 1917 Seagrave fire truck that was used by the Pontiac, IL Fire Department. The brick walls, wood floors and rafters are all original to the building originally build in 1881. This historic building was home to many businesses over the years that serviced the many travelers on Historic Route 66. Station 343 is a must see for anyone making the Route 66 Journey.

Heard this restaurant was good so we took a trip down I-55 to see for ourselves. We were greeted first by the bartender and then the hostess welcomed us. The décor is an interesting blend of old and new, with a firehouse-type theme. Our server, Andrew, could not have been more attentive and helpful. The frozen margaritas are very good and the steaks we ordered were not only huge but absolutely delicious, perfectly done. The side of garlic-flavored green beans was equally tasty. This is now our new favorite place to eat, especially since it's only 10 miles from our house. It's definitely worth a trip.

Pete & the staff of Station 343 provided excellent food and service for our bridal shower luncheon on Sunday, April 21. Everything from the planning to the actual event were perfect. 30+ ladies from the local area as well as Chicago were in attendance and we had only positive feedback. Anytime you can please that many ladies - you are doing things right!! Planning began in January with Kathy from Station 343 providing ideas for food & decor. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the food 5 stars, same for the wait staff and bartender. We would highly recommend Station 343 for your next event.

My brother decided to throw his own 50th birthday party & invited 14 other people to share his evening. When he told us where to meet him, in Dwight, Il at a place called Station 343, my husband & I were a little skeptical. Dwight is a small town, so we could not imagine a new resturant that would catch our interest & want us coming back for more. But, OMG, from the moment we walked thru the front door, we were amazed at what we saw (definitely a class act) & will most certainly be back! The hostess was polite, accomodating & one of the owners! We sat at a bar that had not only been built by one of the owners or his brother (can't remember) but he was also our bartender! The drinks he served rivaled any resturant in Chicago & it's surrounding suburbs but only a 20 minute ride from our home. By now I'm really looking forward to dinner...needless to say none of us were disappointed with the menu choices...they were fantastic and cooked to perfection! From the appetizers thru to the desserts that included a sparkler in the birthday boys' cake!! Our waitress was a joy, the prices were very reasonable and atmosphere was fun--right down to the refurbished fire truck over the restroom entrances!! We can't wait to go back for the unusual selection of pizzas listed on the menu. I definitely would and have recommended this resturant to everyone I have talked to!!

We have been to Station 343 multiple times and while there have been some less than ideal experiences, I would say that overall the majority have been very good. We had a great evening this evening on what looked to be a very busy night. The decor is very warm and inviting and the staff extremely friendly and eager to please. Delicious things to try included the Seafood Risotto, the Pot Roast, and the Shrimp Alexander. If you love desserts you must try their homemade bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Absolutely delicious!!!! And, the martinis are out of this world.

When it first opened the food was very good and so was the service! Both have went downhill very fast! Meat choices taste off and food is jammed all together! The salad is delivered on top of the appetizer and the entree is brought out before you've had a chance to eat half of the salad! I won't be back!
