Great place to spend weekends, home away from home!

Sugar Shores is a very nice gated RV resort, way out in the country. It has a heated pool, an air conditioned building with laundromat, showers and flush toilets. On rainy days the clubhouse has games, tv/movie rooms.

How can I say how unhappy we are with the management. In March, I asked for 3 sites together for a trip in July. We were given site numbers by email and our payment was received. Not until after we arrived did we find that they decided to move us to different sites... and the sites were at opposite sides of the campground. They said the owners of the sites have the right to take back their sites if they decide to use it that weekend! Even the lady behind the counter there said she doesn't know how the management can do this. Then they told us what time checkout was which didn't match what they show on their website. Finally we set up at the campsites which were very uneven, sandy, extremely narrow and unraked sites.

There are plenty of other places to camp. Do NOT choose this one.

This was our first time there, we were greeted at the gate and escorted to our site with help getting backed in as we have a bigger fifth wheel camper and the site we had was a little tight getting in so the extra help was appreciated. Everyone in the campground made us feel welcome and included in all activities going on for the weekend. It was Halloween weekend and the activities they had were a lot of fun. The haunted house was excellent and they toned it down for the little kids to go through. The facilities were super clean and very nicely kept up. We will definitely be going back!

Stayed here 2 nights in late September to be near Rockton for a wedding and reception. Turned out to be only 5 miles from there, so that was great. We found there are two distinct camping areas - Sugar Shores (level sites near the river) and Sugar Hills (nice sites but needed extra leveling for a motorhome. The advantage to "the hills" was more open space and more quiet. Camp facilities and personnel were superb! Very friendly and helpful staff. For example, we were guided into our site, and when we bought firewood, it was delivered right to our site. Many seasonal sites, so visitors are a bit "on the outside looking in". But, this is a great campground nestled on a very picturesque river

Stayed here about a month ago. The managers are superb, they are so friendly and helpful.
They helped us back into our site being our first time with our new camper. They were the only ones on duty the entire weekend and never got tired of answering our questions.
The bathrooms/showers are older BUT so clean.
We will definitely camp here again and make this one of our favorite camping spots.

This was our first time at this resort and we loved it and all the people. They made us feel very welcome. I encountered a problem with hookup of having a too short sewer hose. I purchased one at a very reasonable price and the owner even got me a coupler that I needed. Beautiful place and quiet. Guess What? We're going back again next week, we enjoyed ourselves so much.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
