Description: Hidden away in the Scottish Highlands, Corrour Station House is one of the most remote restaurants in Scotland, as it is only accessible via train or on foot. After being welcomed by a roaring fire, we serve teas, coffees, homebaked goods, soups and filling Scottish-themed meals, including local venison. We cater for a large range of guests including hillwalkers, train enthusiasts and other visitors to this beautiful location. We are open 7 days a week, from 8.30am till 9pm, throughout the months of April to October. Closing date for the 2016 season is the 31st October. We will re-open in March 2017.

Stayed here with a friend to do some hillwalking in the area. Got the first train in on Saturday morning & dropped off overnight bag which they kindly agreed to store for us. Good day walking and the weather was kind to us. Stayed in the Ossian suite which was very comfortable and had lovely views. Owners were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay and regularly checked if we were ok, They even popped our bikes away in their basement overnight so they were out of the rain . We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was fabulous. Everything is very tasty and is home-made, including the bread. Some people might be disappointed that there is not a large number of options to choose from per course, but there is a variety and we didn't expect any more when its all such fresh produce and such an inaccessible location. Definitely one of the best meals I have had for a while. The atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and friendly, and the cosy fire was lovely. Breakfast was also great and set us up for second days hillwalking. Once again the owners were very helpful and stored our overnight bag while we walked. The location is only accessible by rail and the remoteness just adds to that chilled out feeling you get as soon as you arrive. We got the sunday lunchtime train back out of Corrour so had only been in the area for less than 30 hours, but its such a great place it felt like a decent lengthy break. All in all a great weekend.
Whether you are looking for a day trip with an excellent homecooked meal, a tasty meal and bed after being out in the hills, or a special place for a weekend away, this place fits the bill on all those counts. Ollie and Lizzie are clearly working hard to build the reputation and its thoroughly deserved. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit here and we will definitely be back again soon.

Had a club weekend (Ochil Hill Runners) at the Loch Ossian hostel and booked a table for 20 at the station restaurant for the Saturday night. Lizzie was so helpful in preparing a menu for us in advance and the hospitality on the night was excellent. Food and beer went down a treat after a long day on the hills. Really hope the business thrives as it deserves to. Will certainly be back to enjoy the stunning location and food!

Just a wonderful weekend visit with our 7yr old son and a dog, both of whom were made exceptionally welcome. We stayed in the Monarch Suite, which was warm and comfortable. The en suite had a large bath complete with quality bath products. The food was 'high class rustic', fresh and delicious, they catered for my son who wanted a simpler dish and no request was too much trouble.
Delighted to say they welcomed well behaved dogs and she made herself at home sleeping under the table as we ate our meals. Such a refreshing and pleasant atmosphere in an isolated and pristine location. No TV, no internet, no mobile reception - just the perfect get away. Long may it last, well done Lizzie, Ollie & Co.

Having won free rail tickets with Visit Scotland, we found this lovely restaurant with rooms at the highest rail station in the UK. It was built for the landowner as a condition for running the rail track through his land to allow the wealthy to come hunting and fishing here. The young couple, Lizzie and Ollie, make a fantastic team with amazing local produce cooked with a modern twist - venison bolognese, scallop and haggis, venison burgers - all delightful! The room we stayed in had a roll top bath and a stag antler chandelier plus fabulous Highland Soap products. The walk around Loch Ossian is 8 miles with great paths and really blows away the urban cobwebs! The train trip is undoubtedly the best in the UK with fabulous and varied views - we spotted some huge stags and went round a huge horseshoe rail as they could not afford a viaduct. We recommend this destination for its uniqueness and quality - the young owners and doing a fabulous job!

Please visit this restaurant soon. It is truly something to do before you die and has to be seen to be believed. A perfect oasis of warmth, comfort and great food.

The ease with which this young couple are providing something truly special is way beyond their years. This little bit of magic is a highly exclusive, unique experience. It warrants global status for the combination of comfort, relaxation and fun.

Get the train here, walk-in, jump in your helicopter. This gem will become a raging success - get there soon!
