“Carnivore Treat”

Great salad bar, amazing selection of spit roasted meats. Beef, pork, lamb, chicken and sausage. Side dishes are ok but meat is the star. Plan on $50/ person plus alcohol.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

Our family always come here for special occasions and it's a few minutes drive from our home. They have a very consistent excellent quality of food and service. Making a reservation is so easy. We've recently noticed more families with younger children come here. There are also small rooms for private parties. There's a complimentary valet, a plus especially in winter or a very hot summer day. The staff are very attentive. If you prefer a specific cut and can't find your server, they will go in the kitchen and will serve it to you in a few minutes. The buffet appetizers are always fresh and replenished all the time. They have the best caipirinha, whether it's traditional lime or strawberry. Their steaks are just awesome - any meat, cut or texture you'd like. My favorite is fillet mignon wrapped in bacon...so good. Of course our kids like the Guarana. After that sumptuous meal, get papaya cream for dessert. It's so smooth and delightful. Did I mention it's very good for digesting all that meat that you just ate? We will always come to Chama Gaucha. Our children insist!

Been here several times and will keep on coming back! Great garlic steak, lamb and sirloin steak! Don't forget to try the chicken salad and put some bacon bits! Yummy! Will come back! Parking is no problem.

“Delicious food and enjoyable experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2012

Chama Gaucha must be the go-to place to celebrate an anniversary, as we were doing so, along with both of the tables next to us. Since we received a complimentary dessert (key lime pie-delicious!) at the end of our meal, I can see why this might be the case! Although the restaurant is a little dark (both in lighting and decor) for my taste, I found the space to be beautifully rendered, with a lot of unique decorative touches. The music was a little loud, but the quality of the sound system was extraordinary, and the music selection was certainly enjoyable.

The salad bar was wonderful, frequently restocked, and staffed by helpful employees. It included pickled beets, artichoke hearts, tabbouleh, and quite a few other less common items. Of course, most everyone is here for the meat, and it is plentiful, varied, and generally quite good. The gaucho meat servers are friendly, willing to pose for pictures, and do a good job of finding you when are ready for them. They can be a little hard to understand at times, so kindly ask them to repeat themselves if you cannot hear them explain what they are serving. The bacon-wrapped chicken and filet mignon were absolutely wonderful. My husband liked the top sirloin, the pork loin, and especially the rack of lamb. I did find that the portions of meat cooked to medium doneness were often on the edge of the larger pieces (not unlikely, I suppose), which in this case meant they were sometimes charred on the outside.

Although this restaurant appears to be geared more toward adults, there were many children in the dining room, and they all seemed to be enjoying their meals. Younger kids are free (bonus!), and my preschool-age child certainly ate her share, including two of the bacon-wrapped chicken breast pieces and quite a few other items from both the meat service and the salad bar.

A few things for one to consider: First, dinner costs $42.50 per person for adults (it is impossible to find this information online), while I believe that lunch is a more affordable $25. Of course, you could spend much more than this for a meal of comparable quality that has both a smaller variety and certainly smaller quantity of food. The wine list was fairly large, but some of the items seemed a bit pricey when you consider what they were. The service was wonderful, and you will not be disappointed. Even though the primary server does not bring you your food, I am sure that he or she is splitting tips with a fairly large group of wait staff, so I tipped at a standard rate. Finally, for goodness' sake, know what you are getting into when you dine here! A couple sat down nearby us, and they had no idea what was going on. Our server was flustered trying to explain (multiple times) how the restaurant operated, along with having to convince them that they could not order off of a menu!

Thank you Chama Gaucha (shaw'-ma gow-oo'-cha) for a wonderful evening and delicious meal to celebrate our anniversary!

“Excellent Restaurant Experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2012

We went there for our 10th anniversary and loved it!. The salad was spectacular. I'm a big fan of the waldorf and chicken salads. The service was great. Everyone and I mean everyone is attentive and accomodating. The meat selection is great too. The caipriana brzailain coacktails are yummy. I ordered the flan for dessert, loved it. Last but not least they brought out a slice of key lime pie complimentary for our anniversary ( we let them know we were celebrating when we made the reservation). If you have never tried this, it is a MUST!
