Very normal breakfast. I had a Belgium waffle and it was just that, an ordinary waffle with a handful of fresh blueberries on top. Service was spot on but then again we were there on a week day and there were very few people there. Rest of group had french toast, eggs, etc. and everyone thought the same, it was good but nothing special.

Nestled in the highlands of Des Plaines, IL at the corner of Wolf and Central ave. It is a great breakfast restaurant. Service is good and fast. You should arrive by 8:30 a.m. on the weekend or else by 9 a.m. you will be waiting to be seated. They are alway packed.

This is a wonderful family run business.
Everything on the menu is excellent.
Broasted Chicken is second to none.
Order with soup or salad, fantastic bread, choice of potato (Get the home made chips)

Open daily for breakfast and lunch.
Only evening open is Friday Night

The Chicken Pot Pie is home made.
Have had their stick to the bone ribs. Their ribs are good!
There is a private room available for parties.

Even though Katies Kitchen is known for breakfast,
I have only been there for lunch and many, many times for Friday nite dinner.

I ate here during a recent trip. The food was very good and the service was great as well. It was on a Sunday and there was a wait list after about 8:30am for breakfast. Get there early if you don't want to wait.

My wife and I were visiting our daughter and S-I-L for several days and had the pleasure of accompanying some acquaintances to Katie's for brunch.

It was a Sunday around noon and understandably so, quite busy.

This is a great place to have a superb breakfast and not worry about ambience or perfect service.

There were five of us. One in our party had pumpkin pancakes that absolutely had a hypnotic aroma. My wife did her own "build your own omeltte". She truly built a culinary delight, which I was forced to taste several times!

I ordered one of their creations. I had an omelette with: feta cheese, tomato, black olives, onions and spinach. Just a treat!

The menu is quite diverse and at first a bit overwhelming. You can get your basic eggs and bacon or take advantage of Katie's ingenious and thoughtful creations. Such a nice break from the mundane.

Can't wait to visit again.
