El Matador closed a year or two ago and recently reopened under new ownership. The interior has been spruced and has a new design that is more open than previously. The new menu has many of the old favorites plus some new items as well. This is our second time here since the reopening.
We started with the Guacamole El Gusto and Queso Fundido. The guac was awesome with chunks of guacamole mixed with tomatoes, cilantro and cheese. Yum!!! The queso was a white cheese with slightly spicy chorizo. Trust me, there was none of this left over!
I had the Pollo Grande, chicken with chorizo, peppers, onions and cheese. I've had this twice and will definitely have it again. She had the Fajitas Jalisco, a huge portion of beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas with salad, beans and rice. It smelled delicious and she loved it.
Service was great....the food was great with generous portions...and we really like the upgraded décor. We will be back!
