So clean and so welcoming. Irene and Sue provided fresh scones, jam and cream on our arrival at the cottage, Well equipped kitchen. Beautiful linens throughout the cottage.
10 min walk into Heptonstall where there were two lovely pubs. We really enjoyed the total peace of the location. All the locals were so friendly and helpful. Plenty of little buses running up and down dale!
An afternoon in Hendon Bridge is a must, such a lovely town too.
Will be tempted the return to Poppyfields again in the future.
Superb communication prior to stay which was then followed with a wonderful tray of tea and scones upon arrival. Owners are extremely friendly and have a wealth of local information (places to see/history etc). There is, of course, information in the cottage, but being able to speak to someone is usually much more interesting! Accommodation feels light and spacious - newly decorated with very comfortable new furniture and beds. Extremely well stocked kitchen in terms of utensils and appliances. TV and DVD modern and very easy to use (good selection of DVDs). Quiet and peaceful, but also a good location for exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside and places of interest (of which there are many). Was only there for a week, but enjoyed Haworth, Steam Railway, Fountains Abbey, Betty's in Harrogate and the lovely windy road signed to Windop and Colne, opposite the cottage. Hebden Bridge is a beautiful town with a fabulous history and a very good Antique Centre. The abundance of independent shops also provides no end of retail therapy!
