“A disappointing dinner”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Because of a very positive review from Chicago’s Best I took 3 out of town guests to Louisa’s for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We were all very disappointed with the salad, some iceberg lettuce with a couple of thinly sliced red onions and a halved cherry tomato; I have had better side salads from McDonalds. No great response from my friends who thought that the food was OK (they were being polite) but my lasagna was weak. I may have felt better about it if it wasn’t $17+.As a group we had 2 lasagnas’, a chicken parm and the fourth entrée that I do not recall, 3 glasses of wine and a bottle of Peroni beer and the bill was $99+, just a few cents short of a hundred dollars, way way to much for what we received. I guess that Louisa’s figures that since that they received a good review from CB that is all they have to do to impress customers. I won’t be going back to see if they are “one of the 25 best pizzas in Chicago” as ranked in Chicago magazine.

“Won't go back”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

As others have said...this place has changed. Although the decor is improved, the food is unfortunately not as it used to be. The Special Salad is overpowering with vinegar and salami, the minestrone soup has no flavor, Linguini and clams....2 in our party could not finish it...and most disappointing...the pizza is bland. The sausage on the pizza had a weird taste. A couple people in our party had vodka drinks that came in tiny glasses. Desserts were good...Tirimisu and Hazelnut gelato. Our server was kind and attentive.

“Sorry that this place changed”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

They changed the decor. It is too dark inside. We had bad service and the food was ok at best. Prices too high for what you get. We liked this place years ago, not so much anymore.

“Nice family place with great pizza”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

The deep dish pizza was pretty good. We had one with spinach, one with sausage and vegetables. The crust was a little soggy after sitting for a few minutes, but the flavor was great. The service was very good!

“Great family place”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Good Italian food in a great family atmosphere. The linguini w/ clams is worth the drive. We were there with a dozen family members from 5 to 60 and all had a good time and enjoyed the food and service
