We were long-time patrons of the Flame of Countryside prior to its closing, sale, remodeling and re-opening under new management and name. We were hoping the food, service and atmosphere would be the same with the recent re-opening in May 2014, and we were not disappointed. The menu was extensive, as were the cocktail and wine list. They offered many of the old favorites and a few new specialties. The food was well-prepared and attractively presented, and the flavor and quality were excellent. Both my husband and I had shellfish this time but cannot wait to return to try the steaks, chops and prime rib. We were given a warm welcome by Nancy, the owner, and seated immediately upon our arrival. The server was attentive and very familiar with the menu and specials. He kept our glasses and bread basket full and checked up on us just often enough. The prices are reflective of the type of "nice" restaurant it is, but we thought they were reasonable compared with similar restaurants. We had a lovely dining experience and plan to return often.
