“Buisness Trip”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Price was right, staff was great, bathroom a little small but I don't hangout in there. Food was great. Free wifi with strong signal. Staff was friendly all over the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Worked from couch and watched HBO and Showtime.

Room Tip: Great staff, Bar was good, great steakhouse attached to hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel during your recent stay. We appreciate any feedback we receive to help enhance the experience. I apologize that you felt the bathroom to be too small unfortunately when they built the hotel in 1983 there was little emphasis on bathroom space but understand your concern. We are glad that you enjoyed the larger and more roomy work area in your room. Again thank you for your time and look forward to having you stay with us again.

I have to agree with the other reviewer on the state of the bathrooms - they were pretty gross. We were only here for a quick one night stay, but still I don't want/expect mold on the tiles in the tub, black marks/tears in the shower curtain, mold behind the sink, and the bottom of the tub peeling off. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom either, so it was steamed up and humid - no wonder mold grows there! I will say that the staff was friendly and the beds were clean and comfortable. Also, the rooms were quiet. I voiced my complaints to a manager at check-out (and showed my pics) and they were very apologetic and gave me a discount. I was happy with the way it was handled, but I would not stay here again given that there are other choices in the area.

I am a gold member in hhonors and have been on the road for the last six weeks. I decided to get a hotel rather than sleep in my truck at a rest stop. I am staying in room 302 and it is disgusting. No hot water, hair in the bathroom, crud in the cracks, and something really gross behind the toilet. I am so tired from driving from the NE today and am too tired to move. They are very polite here but I can't ask to switch rooms. They room went through the quality control or lack their of. Pics will be uploaded.

Thank you for your candid feedback of your stay at our hotel. We are very sorry that we did not meet expectations and we’re actively working with our housekeeping team to focus on cleanliness and comfort throughout our property. We have noted the condition of the bathroom was substandard. We’ll keep your concerns in mind as we evaluate refresh options at our property. Thank you again, and we hope you’ll stay with us the next time your travels bring you back to the area.

Met by friendly staff at the desk and of course the free chocolate chip cookie. AS we navigated the hotel we were greeted by several friendly staff members. We booked through Priceline but were offered our choice of rooms. The room was large and very clean. Well decorated and supplied. Gret beds, large towels. Nice pool and workout room. Close to several restaurants. You can stay here for much less then St Louis and get free parking. Short drive to all St Louis riverfront activities and ball parks.

Everyone had a friendly greeting and smile, check in, maintenance workers, wait staff and banquet facilities. Amazing food all throughout our convention, one hiccup with no cleanup between AM and PM sessions the first day but this was quickly resolved. Very accommodating and great to work with in planning any event.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our roadtrip. We were greated in a very pleasant way by the extreme friendly staff, who wanted to give us a handicapped room at first...huh, were not disabled!! They changed it immediately into a regular room on the HHonors floor, with 2 free bottles of water every day, and gave us free breakfast during our stay.
The rooms were very clean, and we felt at home right away.
Breakfast wasn't the best we had on our roadtrip, in fact i even drank a whole glass of milk which had gone bad....brrrr. We both thought if we had payed the 19,95 p.p for the breakfast, we would have regretted it. Empty bowls were not filled up, a poor selection of bread, and a couple of things were over the consumption date(milk, yoghurt).
The next 2 days we stayed at the 4 Points in Fairview Heights, which was 10 miles down the road which is also a 3* hotel, and was very disappointing comparing it with the Doubletree. Comparing these 2 hotels, we would rate the 4 Points with a 2*, and the Doubletree with 4*.
This is a very nice and clean hotel, with great service we got used to in Hilton hotels during our 4 weeks, a very friendly staff and nice rooms, but i would skip breakfast.

It has been so long since we had a hotel experience that not only lived up to but also exceeded expectations.

This Doubletree is excellent.

No surprises. A great room and great sleep.

Even the fitness room was _outstanding_. (See my disappointing review on the Movenpick in Munich.)

All this for less than $100.

If you are looking for an affordable and no-surprises comfortable place to stay in Greater St Louis, look no further.
