“Can't wait to visit again…”
Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I frequent several different mexican restaurants on our travels and at home. We both agree Zapatas was great food and great service! The salsa had great flavor with just a slight kick. The food came out quickly. We had the chimichnga, taco, chalupa, chili relano and everything was great. Most restaurants have several combo options to chose from and I like how it was simple you pick items, and sides you like and make your preferred combo. Server was very polite and attentive. We definately will be back!

“Great mexican food!!”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

We loved that the restaurant was close to the hotel. The chicken fajitas were excellent and the portions were large. The quality has been consistent over the years that we have stopped here in Collinsville.

“Probably one of the better options for the area”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

The restaurant was clean and attractive. The service was very nice too. The food was average. Certainly better than fast food, but not one to go out of your way for. I enjoyed my meal more than my family members did. As I stated in my title, it's still probably one of the better options for the area, and probably the best option if you want Mexican food.

“Good Food, Two Cleanliness Issues”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

This was our first time dining at Zapata's. We found the food to be very good. We tried a new dessert which is worth mentioning. It was Platana Macho, a banana wrapped in a tortilla and fried, then topped with syrup, nuts & whipped cream...very good!

One problem we had was that when the waiter delivered the dessert, he brought a dirty knife to the table. We gave it back to one of the managers.

The other thing that was bothersome was that there was a fly that kept buzzing around our table which we had to shoo away.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Maybe it's because we live in a town with severl great Mexican resturants, but we were somewhat dissapointed with the quality of the Taco salads we ordered. Good Mexican resturants will offer a choice between shreaded beef and shreaded chickenh. Not so here. The choice was shreaded checken and ground beef. We had a long wait for the food and the lettice should have been discarded by the chef the day before. Yuk
