This place doesn't look big and fancy from the outside but don't drive past it. They have some great wine in here. The Chambourcin Reserve is great and The Chambourcin Blush is the best of it's style on the trail! Don't miss The Chardonel or Seyval either! They also have three hard apple ciders on draft that are very good.

Owl Creek has excellent wine. Their dry whites and reds are about the best in southern Illinois. If you like real wine, try the Owl's Leap Reserve. Big, full red wine that competes with the best California has to offer. They've got very nice sweet wines for those who like lighter stuff, too. The deck built into the trees is a wonderful shady place to relax, talk with friends, listen to frequent musical acts, and of course drink some good wine. They encourage you to bring your own picnic to enjoy with a bottle or glass. It's smaller than some of the more popular wineries nearby, but trust me, it's far better.

Owl Creek wins every time. We love the Seyval and the outdoor multi tiered deck is wonderful...always nice folks and great food too! Don't miss it if you plan to do the wine trail....literally, the best!

We totally enjoyed visiting here this Spring. Apparently, there has been some new construction and the tasting room now sits on a second floor with a multi-level deck covered by trees. It was such a pleasant time visiting with friends, relaxing on the deck and sipping excellent Sangria. The two guys assisting with the tasting were extremely pleasant. They make a great apricot brie appetizer! Wine... great variety for a variety of palates. We will definitely stop again if on the Shawnee wine trail

Loved it, worth the visit, back road charm, small family owned, no mass distribution, best american wine, comparable to the finest european wines!
