we we invited by another couple we were planning on going to with to a private couples party at the trump in downtown chicago
we were all staying at the westin hotel near by
we were glad to get out fo the cold winter night and we all met there at 8 pm
located on the 5th floor of an indoor shopping mall on michigan ave
we met near the entrance and asked for a quiet booth
we started off witha bottle of medium dry italian white wine around $26 (had 2) and enjoyed it
we also choose a red motepulicano(frankie pleads the 5th)which again was a great bargin and was quite good
we choose a selection of 3 apetizers (the buffula proscuito was great) and enjoyed getting to know our new found friends
then we choose a margharita pizza (wonderful) and some chicken limone and one other delightful dish (with an extra plate)
all was good ambience was nice and the service was good!

we enjoyed our booth that looked out over some other diners,it was quieting down early that night which made it all the more fun for us...

It's also called Frankie's Scaloppine . It's a small cozy restaurant. Nice variety menu. We had the vodka sauce ziti and the gnocchi . Ordered veal meatballs appetizer. All the food was hot and Very good!
The waiter brought a SMALL basket of Italian bread. Then he poured olive oil in a plate for us and left. UH...can we have some grated cheese, salt & pepper to add to the oil? Sure!
We went to dinner, on Monday evening 3/25/13. it was around 6pm. walked right in with no reservation. The waiter was pleasant. Read all the specials. But he didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Oh well!
I will recommend this restaurant.

The menu and the food were fresh and delicious. We stopped for dinner after a long day of shopping. We had a table in the back and the service was great! We ordered the tomato and fresh mozzarella appetizer, a salad and eggplant parmesan. Everything, including the bread and wine were great. I would definitely come again.

The menu has something for everyone. I had a fresh, lemony arugula salad and a delicious lemon chicken, my husband had rack of lamb (he loved it) and our friends enjoyed a chicken Parmesan and veal Marsala. The meal was well served and service was prompt. Don't let the location deter you. This is a great place to eat for a reasonable price.

A little loud, and better suited for families than girl's night but good. We shared the calamari with hot peppers and it was good. Very tender. I had spaghetti carbonara. It was yummy and rich. My friend had the spicy seafood special and she enjoyed it. We both had the house Pino Grigio and it was good.
