“Great Italian”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We had the bruschetta, some awesome crab cakes, cuttlefish in a lobster/crab bisque sauce, and drum roll please .....the white truffle in fettuccine for our appetizers. The fish stew was awesome, and the short ribs did not disappoint. Our server was from Milan, and was very helpful navigating us through the Italian wine list.

“Nice dining experience”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

Delightful neighborhood restaurant; service is amazing; small, comfy restaurant. They started with yummy breads (focaccia and bread) and complimentary bruschetta. The wine list is a bit tricky - the main pages are a bit more expensive, but on the page where you can order by the glass, you can also order bottles - our waiter recommended a perfect wine from this list. The most amazing main course we ordered was a mixed seafood stew - absolutely fabulous. One dish was a bit more disappointing, but it could have been my fault - we ordered "Paccheri au Gratin" roasted eggplant, tomato, basil & molten mozzarella - I thought it would be like eggplant parmegianna, but it was big rigatoni pasta with a little eggplant. Dessert was yummy. Overall an excellent experience

“Didn't live up to expectations.....”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

This restaurant disappointed and didn't live up to the 'real Italian food' expectations. I originally thought it was going to be the same Riccardo's I frequented with the advertising agency team and clients back in the late 60's, which was wonderful, but sadly not. Yes, it was heaving, with people standing at the door to get tables, but the food was average, in our opinion, and there are are many better Italian restaurants in London!

“Great Homey Italian”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Went here with a grow of guys (total 5) while in town for business. It is small, thighs, and loud. That was ok for us as we weren't really looking for quiet and romantic! The food was great. The service was a bit less solicitous than I am used to, but it was good. We had a couple of nice bottles of wine. The wine list is small but very reasonable. I had tripe for an app and it really was great. My entrée was veal/ricotta meatloaf. It was fantastic! I do not recall what others had, but all were quite pleased. I was disappointed that they didn't have any of their truffle specials. I will likely return the next time I'm in Chi town.

“Authentic Italian on Clark”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

They line up for this authentic Italian trattoria a short hop from the loop, so be sure to make reservations early. The prices are very reasonable; the food great. The atmosphere takes you to a typical Trattoria in Rome. You won't be disappointed here.
