This place has good curry but the servers have quite an attitude. The service is slow and looks like they are doing people a favor. The food is good but we were distracted by service.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the excellent cooks and waitstaff make up for the appearance.

I'm fairly new to Chicago, and am a huge fan of Indian Curry. So far, this is the best place I've found in the city. I usually go with the Chicken Vindaloo (love anything spicy) and this one is up there with the best. I would highly recommend this place ... although I've only done carry out there so can't comment on the service.

Service seemed disinterested despite the great business they seemed to do. The food was decent, and we were not unhappy with the curried fish or the lamb vindaloo. There seemed to be some confusion amount the four different waitstaff who served us. Small plates were removed after we ordered, only to be brought back by another person. After we had finished our food, the check was presented quickly but with the dinner plates left on the table. We felt rushed, as the waiter stood by the table while I completed the charge slip. Perhaps they were so intent on getting out of work that they forgot the basic service that diners need to have a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

This review is for their second location at 2439 W. Devon Avenue which is currently not listed on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is situated on this busy street filled with charming boutiques selling books, Indian food, religious statues, glam Indian fashions and glittering jewelry. The food is excellent and tasty. If you prefer less spicy food be sure to request mild. We had chicken tikka masala, dal palak and sag paneer. All were good. Don't forget to try the specialty breads and leave room for some dessert. We had galub jamun, the rich Indian dessert made from milk, ricotta cheese, butter and glazed with a sugar syrup. Entrees run from $10 for the majority to a high of $16 for tandori shrimp. All 3 diners enjoyed their selections and an opportunity to share the others family style. The restaurant has plenty of Indian clientele, most dining with several generations of their family. Children are welcomed here.
