We were very pleased with our 2-night stay at the Doubletree Magnificent Mile. Easy to get to as we came in from I-90 to Ohio Street and stayed on Ohio (one-way) until we came to the hotel on the left. You can choose to enter the parking garage when you first arrive right next to the hotel entrance. There is another ramp about half a block further that may be a little cheaper.
Check-in was at a fairly busy time but the wait was only about 10 minutes. Check-out wait was very short.
It's a large hotel and appears to have been recently renovated. Our (2) rooms were clean and pretty spacious. The beds and pillows rank up there with some of the best I've slept on at hotels. It was decorated nicely and was pleasant. The only negative for us is that the rooms did not have a fridge or microwave. These days we've almost come to expect that for a hotel of this quality. This kept me from giving the hotel a 5 rating.
The location is within walking distance of many downtown hot spots, 2 blocks off Michigan Avenue, not far from Navy Pier and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
We booked this off Priceline by choosing a 3.5 star hotel within this area and got it for under $100. Parking is a killer though in downtown Chicago...It was $41 per night at this ramp.More
