“Wonderful Place to Stay”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for one night and we were impressed buy how spacious, clean, and quiet our room was. The bed was very comfortable, and the price was right!

The pool area was also clean and the pool is long and narrow, which is great for lap swimming. There is a wonderful restaurant in the lobby, and this hotel is close to great shopping areas.

Okay, let me start right off by saying we would not have stayed here for $220 a night if we did not have a free night coupon. So, if you can afford this price range the hotel is in an excellent location one block away from the John Hancock building and great location for shopping (right around the corner from the American Girl store).
Okay, so check in was very professional and the bell men out front very professional and helpful for questions on a cold Chicago weekend with the wind blowing off the lake. We were on the 18th floor and the room was very nice with a bar and frig for use. Parking was $35 dollars a day and we took the in & out option which was a bit more expensive. Only drawback is the in / out garage was a couple blocks over from the hotel.
Bed was very comfy and we had a great time. We dined over on Michigan Ave so I can't comment on the location inside the hotel. I was a bit surprised when we asked for any information on the Field Museum and they did not have information.

Found a $135 park n stay rate online. 1st time at this hotel. The rooms we a nice size, bed was comfy. Best 1st night's sleep in a hotel ever! Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had a long bed pickup so they had to valet our truck since it wouldn't fit in the self park. Very close to Michigan Ave. but due to a snowstorm didn't really do any shopping. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We were on the 17th floor, it was nice and quiet.

The rooms are suites. The suite had a wet bar with a double cup coffee maker so that you can make two cups of coffee or tea at the same time. The suite also had a small refrigerator and microwave. In the lobby there is a Starbuck’s.
The hotel has expensive valet parking ($50 per night) or self parking ($35) about 4 blocks away. The hotel has two restaurants. You are also near many other restaurants (e.g. Cheesecake Factory, Grand Lux Café) within a 20 minute or less walk on Michigan Ave.
I was in town for business and needed a car to get to the suburbs. I would only stay at this hotel again if I was traveling without a car.

The location is superb--a block off the Miracle Mile, 2 blocks to the lake, a short walk to the business district, yet tucked away on a quiet back street. It provides excellent value in an expensive downtown--large full suites with microwave and fridge, spacious bathroom with surprisingly good water pressure (a seeming rarity these days in all but the top hotels), all those little things that are important for business travelers including outlets by the bed and multiple outlets at the desk. No one would mistake the rather garish carpet tiles in the hallways for a Four Seasons, but who lives in the hallways? And the room carpeting is perfectly nice. Front desk staff were exceptionally helpful. Only wish the fitness center was open 24 hours--though front desk offered to open it early for me.

Room Tip: at 30 stories, getting a room facing the lake on a higher floor is worth asking for

We stayed here the weekend before Christmas and had a great stay. We loved that it was so close to the mag mile and Water tower shops. It was also great to have the suite with the pull out couch so that we could have our privacy and our son could as well, and two TVs so we didn't have to watch kid shows :). It was also nice to have the frig and microwave so we could eat our leftovers from all the delicious restaurants near by. The Local Chicago restaurant in the hotel was very good, loved the breakfast and bloody Mary's, and the desserts were amazing! Parking is pricey but it is everywhere in Chicago :)
