This hotel is located close to both Mag Mile and State Street shopping. It is moderately priced and very clean. The staff is both friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room that faces away from both State and Hubbard. We had an inside room (north fac...

Stayed here for two nights for a convention. Excellent location with many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Felt like a very safe area. The room was very comfortable. No wifi, but the wired connection wa very fast. The staff went out of their way to make sure I felt welcomed and well taken care of. Easy walk from the Blue Line CTA coming in from O'Hare.

The location was fantastic, but I was shocked to find that a hotel in 2011 that charges these prices does not offer wifi in their rooms, which was really inconvenient as I had a lot of work I needed to do. The rooms were clean with a good view, but expect a lot of noise sleeping in the city - the windows are not very good sound barriers. The food ordered from room service was pretty inedible so would not recommend the hotel for food, but it is right next to some fabulous restaurants. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, but this hotel needs some updating. Also watch out for the $4 water bottles in the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing State Street so you get a better view of the skyline.

Room was comfortable. Internet is wired only, a disadvantage for me. Restaurant was marginal and bar expensive and sparse. But the location is great for eating elsewhere. Value stay.

I was here for 3 days for a conference and had the best time. I read a couple of reviews and I can say that I had NO issues with noise level. I was on the 10th floor, right next to the elevators and couldn't hear a thing going on outdoors. I didn't need ice, no need to work-out and did not have time to use the pool. Any free-time I had, I spent it enjoying the city. The location is prime! Everything was in walking distance. The staff greeted me every time they saw me. They opened doors, even at the wee hours of the morning they were still joyous. I can not wait to come back to Chicago and stay here.

I stayed here for 2 nights while working at both Midway and O'Hare airport. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. Great location a block from Michigan Ave, a few blocks west of Navy Pier. There are a ton of restaurants in the area within walking distance. I had lunch at State Street Bread company and although i felt it was a bit expensive, it was very good. Also had dinner one night at the restaurant. The burger was good. The bartender has a great personality and is very friendly. I was on the 11th floor not facing the street and I still heard the sirens loud and clear. But I must have been pretty tired because I didn't hear anything at night. There is a Starbucks on-site and there is a small convenience area where you can buy drinks, snacks, toiletries and beers. I did order room service one night and my food arrived promptly and hot.

O'Hare is a 45 minute train ride from the hotel on the Blue line, which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Very convenient. Midway is about 35 minute train ride on the Orange line, but that's not very close to the hotel. If your traveling to or from the city during either rush hour period, you definitely need to take the train. The traffic is HORRENDOUS and will take easily an hour and a half to get to O'Hare and an hour to get to Midway and vice versa.

Wired internet connection in the room I found to be extremely slow. That was quite annoying. The A/C worked like a charm. And as you'll see in most of my reviews, the pillows left something to be desired. I just like them firm. There was a love seat and an ottoman in the room which was great for watching TV. There is an area in the lobby that you can use to check in for your flights and print boarding passes. Love that hotels have these things now in case the airport doesn't have mobile boarding pass capabilities. There is a 7-Eleven right across the street as well in case you need to pick anything up.

All in all, I liked the Courtyard downtown and would stay again.
