Very nice and atmospheric hotel in the Wrigleyville area. Rooms are large and comfortable and reception staff is friendly and helpful. Lobby sitting area is quite inviting and a great place to relax. There is no restaurant on site, but there are plenty of options a short walk away. A continental breakfast is served.

Spent two weekend nights at the Majestic. You are getting what is essentially a better quality chain hotel wrapped up in a 'boutique hotel' look. You will have everything you need, but not much more, at a reasonable price. The hotel is in a very nice residential area, just off Lake Shore Drive. It is outside center city Chicago. Buses are on the Drive and there is an indoor garage available to guests in an adjoining building. The rooms are quite and comfortable, but the continental breakfast is basic; it is self served in a large sitting room on the first floor. The staff is friendly and competent. If you are looking for a pleasant place, at a fair price and you do not need to be within walking distance of the attractions in Chicago, then this is a good choice.

Stayed there for 2 nights, premises is clean, cosy and comfy. Room was a bit on the small side, and got stuffy very fast but there was a decent air con unit which alleviated the problem quickly.
Breakfast was fine-no complaints at all- the usual fare of bagels/cereals etc
Location of the hotel isn't the best and we needed a cab to get anywhere.
However, the best thing about the Majestic is the staff- they helped us with a few things and were totally honest and full of tips on where to eat etc (ie, the best place to get pizza pie!). Can't praise them highly enough. They definitely made the experience for us.

This hotel is perhaps the nicest I have stayed in and made my trip to Chicago even more wonderful than it already was! I have stayed in many hotels over the years, in all sorts of price ranges and the staff at the Majestic were, quite simply, THE nicest staff I have ever encountered. We arrived before check in time and they suggested a lovely pub to go have lunch in. Later in the day we asked them if they could get us a cab. We assumed they were just going to call for one, but one of the staff actually ran down to Lakeshore, hailed a cab and brought it back to the hotel for us. Amazing!! The rooms are lovely, with a nice sitting room attached. Comfy beds. A simple but nice breakfast each morning in a beautiful common area. I hope to return to Chicago soon and I don't even have to think about where I will stay. I will most definitely return to the Majestic and will recommend it to anybody!!

We spent 5 nights at the Majestic, the hotel is a bit old and surely needs rennovation. The room was very spacious and the staff very nice. Mona welcomed us very warmly and have been very helpful through out our stay. The building is very quite and even the area. Few steps from the gay street this ia a perfect location for nights out. Cleaning is not not a priority, specially common areas, but our room was done everyday. Breakfast could definitively be improved, it is a very poor buffet in the main lounge, nothing to look forward to.
Overall we had great time and price is reasonable.

Had to participate again in a packaging expo and this year I finally decided that I would NOT pay the crazy prices for downtown hotel rooms. It's gotten out of hand. Did some searching and found this little jewel. Also did some work on better understanding the CTA bus line schedules. That was even a better bonus. One can buy a car cheaper than pay cab fares in this city and besides.......the powers that be have done a great job ??!! insuring that the regular trains don't go anywhere near McCormick Place. The Metra train does but it's a pain and expensive.
This little hotel is great. Clean and a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They can help with any bus route info and even sell the one day CTA passes. Very easy to get to on the Blue line from O'Hare and the 152 bus at Addison station. Free Breakfast and it was good with a fairly large selection. My only recommendation is that they STOP putting those warm cookies out at night. Bet I gained 5 pounds on those things. They were great.

Room Tip: I had room 310 which was a corner room. Could look out over Lakeshore drive. Don't worry abou...

Simply loved the hotel - the best we had on a month long trip in the north eastern USA and Canada.
It's located not far from the center of Chicago, in a quiet and lovely area, on a small one way street. The bus station is very near - less than a block away, and it's the best solution to visit the center of Chicago without having parking problems there. The buses come frequently, there are at least 2-3 lines that make a stop there and go to the center, so the waiting is short.
The area is beautiful and has english-style houses - very nice to take a walk. Seems safe in the evening too.
Wrigley Field stadium is close by and there are parking places in the next street (Byron St.) which are reserved for Cub's fans during the games. This and the fact that the streets there are small and have very few not-reserved parking places, makes it difficult to find parking outside. The hotel offers parking for $22. Lucky for us, we were there just during days when there were no Cub games and we found a good parking place for free, on Byron street. We left the car there for 3 days and used the bus.
The hotel is right near Lakeshore drive and Lincoln Park, which allows to visit the park (it's a very long park), see many people jog and visit its attractions.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and especially Mona, who really became our friend. We were staying in a room right across her desk. She gave us great tips and advice - to use the bus, recommended a good hamburger restaurant, take a boat tour and more. Each evening we would return and tell her about our experiences. We never had such a good relationship in any hotel ever (and we do travel a lot).
Right after the entrance to the hotel there are about 6 steps down to the reception desk and the rooms, so it is something to consider for handicapped people.
The hotel offers complimentary tea, coffee, coockies and fresh fruit from the afternoon and on. The hotel has no real lobby, so this is located in a 'guestroom', which has several armchairs and sofas and some more cushioned places to sit. The furniture is in an old luxurious style and is comfortable to sit and relax.
The breakfast is also held in that guestroom, which sometimes creates a bit of a problem to find a seat. There is only one low table in the middle, and if a group occupies the sofas and armchairs around it, all is left are a few places to sit, without a normal table. These places are separated from eachother, so each has to find his own place. It does create an unusual atmosphere and a unique experience, but I find it less comfortable than a normal dining room. Maybe it was because a large group remained sitted after breakfast and continued talking and reading newspapers, while others tried to find a sit and eat...
Breakfast is complimentary and good - eggs and sausage, bagels, Philadelphia cheese, jams, yogurts with fruits, fresh fruits, etc. There were no vegetables (and neither in any hotel we stayed in the USA or Canada, except one in NYC).
The suite was very big and consisted of 2 rooms. There was an AC unit + ceiling fans in each room. Furniture was good, big flat screen TV's - in both rooms, very comfortable beds, a kitchenette with a microwave and a small refrigirator.
Wi-fi internet was free and fast.
All in all - definetly recommend to stay there, even considering the small drawbacks I mentioned.

Room Tip: We loved the suite across the reception desk
