“Solid Marriott hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

Stayed for a conference. The hotel staff were helpful and nice. Stayed on the 12th floor which was a concierge floor. Seemed to be in good shape. Probably updated in the last few years. Part of hotel was 2 or 3 stories and was very sad and dated looking. Not sure if guests stayed in that part at night. Lobby bar is small. Restaurant nothing special.

Dear texdoc! Thank you very much for writing about your stay! I am glad you enjoyed it. Indeed there is a part of the building that is awaiting improvements that we currently don't operate. I am not sure if you had the opportunity to visit our restaurant (BRICKTON), it is getting very high marks and is with in the top 10% for food and service for all US Marriott hotels. Thanks again for your time. Dieter Heigl.

I was looking for a hotel that would provide both a shuttle to the airport, as well as easy access to the city. This is it. There's a free shuttle to the airport which is easy and quick. There is also a blue line stop into Chicago in the next parking lot. Perfect. The hotel is clean, the rooms are fine, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. A great hotel for what I needed.

The hotel offers the reliable Marriot experience and is good for an airport hotel. The shuttle from/to the airport runs every 20 min and is driven by courteous drivers. Had to call to get shuttle instructions. Check in was pretty easy. I was disappointed that both the restaurant and concierge club close at 10:00pm. The room was fairly updated and very clean, with everything working. My only complaint is that the bathroom was tiny and hard to maneuver. The conference services were very good, with pretty good food and service.

Dear pickybiz:
Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. I appreciate your notes and comments and thank you for your business. While the Brickton and the concierge lounge do close at 10 pm, the Brickton lounge and bar offer food service until 12:00 midnight; as well as the lobby shop offers lighter snacks 24 hours/day. Should you have a special request durning your next stay please do feel free ask our staff even after 10 pm and we will do our best to accommodate you. Wishing you safe travels. Dieter Heigl

I recently stayed here for a "roll up your sleeves" and get work done meeting. The location is off the airport campus, so there are few, if any, distractions to tempt you to sneak out. The hotel does provide an airport shuttle which takes about 20 minute including a stop at the Marriott Suites. Check in is efficient and pleasant. The lobby is contemporary with a Starbucks, large bank of business center computers, and a bar. There is a huge variety of meeting rooms spread throughout the facility, making it easy to have break out rooms. Meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, were well prepared with healthy options. A shout out to the service-wonderful! The rooms were large and nicely maintained with the standard amenities: in room AC, TV, lamps with multiple charging outlets, coffee maker, safe, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel and soap. The exercise area and pool were quite spacious too. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs...you do hear those jets!

Room Tip: If you are with a group, ask for free Wi-Fi. Pool view rooms have a delightful balcony.

Hotel near O'hare so it is convenient. The room and space appeared clean. There is a shuttle to/from O'hare which is helpful. But as with any airport hotel, you get what you get and I wasn't very happy with everything from this stay.
I had three issues: 1) The early morning (6AM) coffee/cafe service workers were rude and snippy. 2) The music in the lobby and breakfast area at 6 AM was night-club loud and when I asked for it to be turned down a bit I was told "management does not allow us to touch it". Really?
3) The size of the bathroom was uncomfortable. I was on the concierge floor - I'm a Marriott Platinum guest - I actually had to sit on the toilet to put on my makeup. It was difficult to shut the bathroom door while in the bathroom.

Room Tip: check to see if there are rooms with a larger bathroom. If you want a tub, you will need to ask for...

They have a nice pool and fitness center. The rooms are really small. The bed was comfy and the room was really clean. They have no free wifi, and the bath towels are really ruff, no fridge in room either. The restaurant was average but very expensive. No breakfast included.

Dear Patryce:
Thank you for writing about your stay with us. Thank you for your compliments as well as your feed back on what you would to see changed.
Like most full service hotels of a major brand we do bill for services such as breakfast and internet separately from the guest room. From your note I gather that you prefer to have all inclusive pricing when you choose a hotel. There are a number of Marriott brands that will perfectly meet your preference such as Courtyard Hotels, Residence Inn and Springhill Suites. There is a Residence Inn near O'Hare as well as a Springhill Suites (which is located just 1 mile from our hotel.) I can recommend all of them. Thank you for staying with Marriott! Wishing you a pleasant summer. Dieter Heigl
