Our 3-night stay at the Talbott confirmed all the previous TripAdvisor raves about this boutique hotel a block off Michigan Avenue in the shadow of the Hancock tower. Other hotels may have fancier, more updated rooms, but it is hard to imagine finding a friendlier, more attentive staff. Our booking included a $15/person voucher for breakfast which we took on the charming sidewalk seating (indoor seating is also available). Well worth it, though my lovely companion, a coffee officianado, groused a bit about the house brew. We also took advantage of the complimentary use of the Equinox gym a block away in the Bloomingdale building. Some excellent, reasonably priced restaurants can be found a few blocks north of the Talbott on Rush Street. And there is no extra charge for the WiFi in the rooms.
