I do quite a bit of business travel to Chicago and stay at downtown hotels. However, my wife and I, who used to live in the Lakeview neighborhood, wanted to stay in the area with our kids for a short vacation. The location was perfect. We walked to the lake every morning (a very easy 20 minutes). Lots of great restaurants, shops, and music in the neighborhood all within walking distance. The Diversey el stop was only about a 20 minute walk and, although a bit longer (maybe 25 or 30 minutes), the walk to Wrigley was easy as well. What was really beyond expectations was the hotel staff. They were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Also, while the rooms were a touch dated (again, I'm used to staying at downtown hotels), they were exceptionally clean (which is really important to me) and well maintained. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area.

Recently stayed for one night. We're regular customers of the Majestic that is a few miles north of the Willows and found the Willows more convenient. It has the nice amenities and we found the service to be very good.

We'd definitely stay there again if our travels took us to that part of Chicago.

My sons and I chose Chicago as a destination to celebrate my mother's 75 birthday. We could not have been more pleased. The hotel was on a beautiful tree lined street. After spending the day downtown we were able to hop on a bus and get to our hotel in less than 20 minutes. The staff was outstanding. Exceptional service was provided by Bianca, Ben, and Neli. We walked to Wrigley field; I ran to the beach via Lincoln Park, and any last minute necessities could be purchased at the nearby Walmart. We will return. Thank you!

Bianca, Adrian, Fabian, Danielle and others were SO helpful in making our visit to Chicago a memorable one...so often, hotel staff are congenial and perfunctory but the staff of this hotel went above and beyond, without hesitation time and again. Their pride in the hotel, and the city as a whole was obvious as they made suggestions, and helped us to create an itinerary of our time around the city. We cannot say enough about how welcomed and comfortable we felt in your beautiful hotel. A definite repeat visit is in our future. FOUR STARS

We had two separate stays at the Willows in early July. On the first stay we had a rather small bedroom but an adjoining reading/TV room with plenty of space. The bathroom is small and has been updated to some degree, but a still a little tight. On our second stay we assumed we'd have a similar room. Upon opening the door and trying to get our two large suitcases in, it was apparent we had a pettite or cozy queen. I couldn't believe it--but, making a quick call down to the front desk asking for consideration for anything slightly bigger, we were given a very comfortable King--Thank You! The rooms are clean and the housekeeping people do a good job.

As many others have said, you pay for location. We took advantage of the 8 minute walk to reach the walkway along Lake Michigan, we walked around the immediate Lincoln park area and had coffee, etc. You do have the self-park for $22/night and you'll need it because there is absolutely no way you can find a legal parking spot in this residential area.

We didn't have a problem with the staff as others have stated, but I would agree that the breakfast is kind of weak in terms of what's available and the fact they need to have someone keeping a closer eye on coffee running out, silverware needed, etc.

On the positive side, the lobby and room were pleasantly clean and odor free and the staff very friendly. Location for us was convenient to visiting family in Lincoln Park. We didn't mind the view-less room and were able to control the window a/c unit so it didn't rattle. Also liked the adjacent parking at $22./night. The complimentary breakfast was a negative and the price seemed high for the overall package. We will look for better values before rebooking here.

Spent a week at this hotel and the everything was great. Wonderful location close to the lake, Wrigley Field, bookstores, cafe and eateries of all sorts and the Zoo. Excellent staff. Absolutely no problems.
