I've been to this Sheraton many times for business. This time my husband and I were there for a quick weekend away. We got a nice deal on Expedia. The hallways are a bit dated and are kept a bit cool. The room was very nice, we had a great view of the river and the lake. Our bed was very comfortable, we had a very enjoyable stay. We hope to come back with our children in the spring or summer.

Room Tip: The king bed rooms at the ends of the hall are nice sized, if you can get the ones with the lake vie...

The hotel is renovating its rooms. We, however, stayed in a room that hadn't been renovated. Cleanliness of rooms were so-so. There was a lot of dust around base of furniture.
Staff were friendly. I will say, the house keepers are kept busy there. I had family on 29th floor, I was on 31st floor. I saw same housekeeping staff on both floors throughout the day. Housekeepers work hard, they must be short staffed inorder for me to see same housekeepers on two different floors.
Hopefully the rooms will be much better after renovation.
Slow check in. Arrived at 1130 p. had to wait in line for check in. Only two receptionists working.
Not a bad experience. Would consider staying there again at right price.

I'm beginning to think there is very little value to being an SPG Gold member, especially when you stay at a Sheraton. My wife and I thought it would be nice to take our 4 grandchildren to the city for the weekend. After enduring a VERY long wait in line at the Preferred Check In, those of us in line watched in surprise as a man just cut in front of all of us who had been waiting for 30 minutes. Nothing was said or done by staff at the front desk and he was checked in. Welcome to the Sheraton Chicago...but wait...there's more. As we were finally checking in at 4:00pm, and after waiting in line for over half an hour, we were told that our 2 rooms were still not ready. Yes, 4pm. As most people who travel with children would do, we accepted the first immediate substitute rooms. Bad move on our part. Small and dingy with two twin beds, it kind of took the fun out of what was supposed to be a good experience. Loose plumbing, very little storage space, not enough towels and toiletries to go around for 4 people...this is what we get for our loyalty to Starwood. With 4 children in two rooms with us, the mini bar was not a good idea. It took 3 separate requests to get it locked. Now it was time to take the kids to the pool. The crowded pool was expected, but the total lack of chairs around the pool was not. After bringing up all of the above tithe MOD, he said he would give us a fifty dollar credit which was not on the final bill. We could have cared less about the credit and cared more about a better experience. These events follow a recent stay at the Sheraton on Canal Street in New Orleans where we endured 3 days of timing our showers around the leaking plumbing from the room above ours. Seems the "guests" wouldn't allow hotel staff in the room to inspect the problem. Who's hotel was it? Prior to this, we had a challenging experience at the Sheraton Times Square in NYC. All we want is a nice, clean room and a caring staff. thats what hotels used to be. We're beginning to sense a new low in quality and customer service corporate wide. RIP Starwood.

We visit Chicago two or three times a year. Having tried several hotels in the past, for the past three years we have settled on the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. Its conveniently located. It has a nice atmosphere. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating. Prices very and sometimes there are some real deals on rooms. Its positive reputation is well earned, well deserved.

We stay at least once a year at the hotel in Chicago. For a "convention" hotel it is one of THE best and we stay at such hotels all over the country. The staff is always accommodating for our group which can be very demanding. Several of the waiters for the banquets have worked there for years and we hug when I see them and they know to get the Diet Coke for me for breakfast without saying it has to come from the bar. At Christmas time the lobby takes on a special tone and it is fun to watch families arrive as such a festive atmosphere. The cookies in the afternoon are nice as well! Management remmembers names.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from elevators. All of the floors are fairly quiet, wife halls for walking, hot...

In August 2012, my family had a terrible experience at this hotel. We were staying there for a wedding party and wedding reception at Navy Pier. The service was horrible. I sent a nasty gram to the hotel and got a response from the manager. He apoligized and offered a free night.
My daughter and son-in-law were able to take advantage of the free night. The room was an executive suite overlooking the Chicago River out to Lake Michigan. They had a phenomenal time.
Thanks to Charles the Manager who arranged this opportunity for them.

Over the past 24 months I have stayed at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. Beautiful hotel, well appointed rooms and an attentive staff. Great service and a great value. Conveniently located near Michigan Ave, shopping and dinning. Will definitely return. It is my hotel of choice when in Chicago.
