Wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated. Had a meal in the lounge/bar along with a wonderful Pinot Noir. Staff very friendly and great to work with. Only downside was the wait for our car from valet services. Bedding and the room/view was fantastic.

This is why I stay so many nights a year at Marriott Hotels and where possible try to stay at Renaissance Hotels in particular. Super friendly and uncomplicated check-in and check-out. Good buffet -- I don't have much else to say as everything was as expected.

Back to the Renaissance again this weekend after almost a year! Still top notch with well-appointed rooms, welcoming public areas, good food, a lively bar and responsive staff. Their location on Wacker just acroos fromt the river makes it convenient to both North Michigan Avenue and the Loop with a host of shops and restaurants as well as Chicago sightseeing destinations. The service is here is outstanding with a staff well-trained to accommodate your requests and enthusiastic about your being a guest in the hotel. Rooms on the north side give you a good view of the river and much of downtown Chicago (at the upper level). A good coffee bar in the lobby is open for early morning or even late night java. The hotel adjoins a small mall with a nice assortment of shops and interesting cafes for a quick bite.

My room was very comfortable and clean. I was participating in a national convention for volunteers and hotel staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant. And the food and snacks we were served were delicious. The bar was fun.

Three things surprised me, when I found myself hungry at 12:30 a.m....no room service, no mini-bar (with snacks) and no vending machines. I wasn't going to walk around on State or Lake St. at that time of night so I was stuck.

I'm hard of hearing so the el noise didn't bother me.

As platinum Marriott members, we were disappointed in our recent stay at the Renaissance Chicago. We have stayed here before, but this was the first disappointing performance. We had two rooms (a suite and a rack room). The suite view was fine, but the other room was 5 floors away, not what had been promised. The safe never did work in our suite, even after my wife reported it to the manager. They have done away with the mini bars, which is fine, but they sent us down to the main floor bar for pre-dinner cocktails. Then, no trays to carry four drinks up 22 floors. Will give it one more chance because of past successes, but this was a pedestrian effort on their part.

Stayed here for business and had a room towards the elevated train behind the building and was very disappointed. It was loud every time a train went by which is all the time.

Room fine.

Service fine although even as a Marriott platinum I couldn't get a king bed away from the tracks.

Next time in Chicago I'll try somewhere else.

Amazing with beautiful views and rooms! Service was top notch. If you go and plan to explore what the city has to offer, make sure to talk with Tom our fabulous navigator! We were able to have a fun filled week, explore the city and areas the locals love;as well as relax in the hotel. Very well located in a great area.
