Was in Chicago with my wife for a weekend visit. The renassaince was well priced, service was great, had a big room. The hotel is close to Michigan avenue, theater district and very convenient to subway for trip to and from ohare.

The renaissance is most impressive in its location. Overlooking the river and
State street. Walking distance to the park, restaurants, Miracle Mile shopping,
public transportation, etc. All just steps from the front door.

The rooms are nice, not uber-luxurious, but nice. Wonderful bed!

Club level lounge was exceptionally staffed, good breakfast, drinks, etc!

One note of comment: The dinner tray from the previous guest sat outside our room after our check-in, despite 2 phone calls AND personally telling the housekeeper.

Great location and pretty much what you would expect from a better Marriott property. Mattress seemed a little on the older side-reminded me that it had been slept in before - more than a few times. Otherwise all was great.

Great hotel and the location can't be beat. It was clean and the staff were super. Would definitely stay here again. You can walk right out the door and go on a river tour, walk to Michigan Ave or go across the street to The Wit and go dancing. The bar in hotel was awesome too with great Irish waiter! We never got to the spa and did not have any kids. We loved the location just two blocks from the train from O'Hare.

My company had an event here and we also stayed at the hotel. The staff are stellar. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The conference went out without a hitch due to the helpfulness of the staff.

The rooms are spectacular. I was upgraded to club level and had a beautiful view of the river. The beds were so comfortable. The rooms spic and span clean. Room service was fast and the food was excellent.

I have no complaints whatsoever and HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

I chose this hotel for the view of the river which I really enjoyed. The service staff in this hotel do not know how to work together. We arrived late afternoon and was give the key card to our room. We got the 23rd floor and discovered the breakfast or dinner tray from the last guest on the floor beside our door. The bellboy brought our bags to our room and the tray remained. Housekeeping knocked on the door and I pointed to the tray and asked her to take it away. She replied she would call Room Service. I doubt she did that. A half hour later my husband went down to the lobby to talk to the concierge and spoke to the desk asking them to send someone to get the tray. I left the room 10 minutes later and the tray was still there and I spoke to the desk as well. When we returned from dinner the tray had been removed. The staff do not cooperate with one another. All the door men were fabulous, they are the only staff members that were any good. The receptionist upon check in didn't tell us that bar was being use for breakfast and we went to the second floor follow the directions in the elevator and was surprised to find ourselves at a Trade Show Conventions. We walked to all the corners of this floor and then went down to the desk where we were informed that breakfast was being served in the first floor bar. These errors need to be corrected if this hotel wants to stay in business. Their lack of service really damped our impression of Chicago.

Room Tip: Ask where they are serving meals if you plan to eat on property.

We have stayed here twice and have found this hotel to be very comfortable, welcoming and well located for shopping, museums and access to the beautiful lakefront. The guest rooms are larger than in the Marriott on Michigan Avenue. We have been given a riverfront room or suite each time which makes for a wonderful view in the spring and summer. The staff are friendly and attentive.
After our first night, I found that the mattress was much too firm for my comfort and my request for a mattress topper was promptly granted for the next night. The room and bathroom are always clean.
This hotel is our first choice for our occasional getaways to Chicago.
