“Nice hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012 via mobile

Stayed early December Friday for quick trip to the city. Very nice hotel and loved the location, close to shopping, and garetts popcorn. All the staff we encountered were friendly. Would defiantly stay there again.

Choose the reviere suites. Nice and roomy and large enough when traveling with kids! Great view of the river and bridges. Also its a great place to stay if going to the theatre. Have stayed here every december to bring our kids to a play. Its become "the christmas" hotel to our children. Shops and restaurants all in the hotel or walkable. We recd the rollaway and extra towels within minutes of checking in. This is a great hotel

I would definitely stay here again. Very nice hotel, nice rooms, lobby, and bar/restaurant. It is within easy walking distance to Michigan Ave. For $120 dollars, this was an awesome deal. See you again.

I agree with many of the previous comments such as soft pillows, no free wifi, no bathrobes and no free bottled water in the rooms. The river view is fantastic and the location is perfect because all the shops you want are nearby. I would stay here again but ask for a different room. Rooms 1822 and 1824 share a front door in an alcove plus the housekeeping storage rooms are in front of 1824 so hearing all these doors being unlocked and opened can wake you up if you are a light sleeper. Not real sound proof either. The tv remote was slow to turn on and slow in changing channels. The lobby smells great, check in fast and staff very friendly. The Aveda products are a luxurious touch. One thing I hope ALL hotels can do something about in the future is people talking in the hallways. It is very disruptive and wakes you when you hear people yelling to each other in the halls especially after bar time.

This is the only hotel my wife and I stay in while in Chicago. The location, staff, and overall cleanliness of the hotel have not changed over the years, always top notch. On our recent two night stay, we expected to see the lobby decorated for Christmas (like the rest of the city). There were a few small decorations, but that was it. Other Marriott brand hotels in the city were decked out for Christmas. Still a great hotel to stay at.

Clean, decent-sized room. Nice view of the city (State St.). The people there were friendly and helpful. THey have a Starbucks downstairs and are linked to some gift shops, etc. through the south exit.

We stayed here during the Chicago Marathon and it was so well situated - an easy stroll to the start line and a slightly harder walk back about 26 miles! The hotel was so central to shops and other city attractions. The hotel had all the usual things you want when you're away from home and staying in the city along with a really nice indoor pool and jacuzzi area and small fitness facility. The room was comfortable and nice quality bath area and toiletries. Warm friendly staff.
