I loved the location of the hotel, right in the heart of downtown, walking distance to everything. Once I arrived I was greeted by a friendly doorman at my ride, helping me which I was grateful for. Everyone inside was just as helpful, once at the desk the service was all smiles with detailed information that I did need later. I was glad the room keys operated the elevators, that added more security for me. The room was a nice size, clean and with a view. This hotel is attached to a Starbucks which was amazing, if you a coffee drinker. This hotel was definitely top notch. And I can’t forget it’s right next door to Michel Jordan’s steak house.

Well located hotel with easy access to various sights and, in my case, very close to the Chicago Marathon activities and good place for walking, cycling and jogging. Great shops and restaurants nearby

Skip this hotel. Overpriced two star parading as a 4.5 star. This place is all lobby. Rooms are drab. Beds old and sagging in the middle. Place smells old. No coffee in room. $10 for bottled water in room. Room service is ridiculously over priced for horrible food. The $10 pot of coffee arrived late and tasted like the cheapest coffee possible. TV has crap channels available. This place is made for the most boring traveling salesmen in the world. One Willy Loman after another in the lobby. Stay tuned for more, I have yet another night here.

InterContinental Chicago is one of the main hotels I book when traveling to Chicago. From getting out of the cab and checking into the hotel, to getting a bite to eat at the bar, to the checkout and cab ride back, the team in Chicago is fantastic. The only thing I had to say was that there was a line in the registration which I am not used to but it still moved fairly quickly.

We recently had occasion to stay at your property at the time of the 2019 Chicago Marathon. We assumed that the bottled water available in the room - since it was clearly marked "Complimentary" was in fact, free or n/c.Marking the water as :complimentary and then having the gall to charge $15/day for it is tacky, disingenuous, and unethical.we will not be returning.

I admire you getting out of your way to send us your honest comments. I'm happy that you chose us when you had your trip to Chicago, IL.
All we wanted is to give the glamour of Intercontinental Life. It seems we didn't meet all of your expectations. While I'm glad to know that you were pleased with our hotel location and tidiness, I'm sorry that you were surprised by the $15 a day charge for the water. One of our standards is a design that promotes international allure. I'm concerned that you don't see ours in that manner. The thoughts of our guests are important, so I relayed yours to our upper management. Please trust that we'll consider your words in our future upgrades. I'm hoping that you can check the private message that I sent you.

Perfect location in the middle on the Magnificent mile, close to everywhere, can't beat location. But once inside, different story. Hotel is clean, rooms are huge and very clean, but specially rooms look really old. Not what you would expect from an Intercontinental. Bathrooms are big, but space is limited, you don't have a place to store the hair drier. You have to be very flexible to reach the toilet paper, wc is old. Again... big and clean but old. On the room, bed was amazing, tv is big, we had a window to the mag mile, but you need a chair to be able to see through, also to reach the chains to open curtains. Some nice frames would make the room look brighter and younger. Same thing on some common areas, you get out of the elevator, and everything is dark, no flowers, chairs, sofas, nothing, just 4 walls and a mirror. With "very little" the hotel would rock! Again... can't beat the location!!
Room tip: Modernize rooms please!!
