We booked this hotel because we were vendors for a large show at McCormick Place. The staff at the hotel was excellent everywhere we encountered them. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the room was very quiet. The location is great if you need to get to the convention center, especially the North Hall, which is literally right through the door. There is nowhere to easily walk to for restaurants or shopping, but cabs and public transportation are available. The food in the hotel is very good and very reasonable.

It is the best hotel downtown. Spacious great view and quiet. The Hyatt has very comfortable beds. Parking, though expensive, was well worth the price. Unlimited in/out privileges made it worth paying $32.00 per day for. Excellent location to every attraction. Very highly recommend. We stay here twice a year.

Room Tip: Ask if the higher floors are available.....Beautiful view the higher you go.

I have to say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Very clean and the staff was very friendly. We went for the Easter weekend and had a great time. Very clean!! We booked online and got a great deal. We did the free breakfast special for 2. The breakfast was AWESOME!! It is made to order and you can order anything from the menu. My 8 yr old loved it here so much and didn't want to leave. This is not in the heart of downtown Chicago - but maybe a couple of minutes on the outskirts. We just parked in the parking garage and took a taxi if we knew traffic was going to be bad. Parking was a little pricey - but it is pricey anywhere in the downtown area. Would definitely go back and stay here.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 33rd floor...the view of the city and the lake was unbelieveable!!!

It was the most pleasant experience that we both had. We requested a room on upper floors and they gave us the 33rd floor - penthouse. The room was spotless and very comfortable beds and pillows. Parking, though expensive, was well worth the price. Unlimited in/out privileges made it worth paying $30.00 per day for. Excellent location - got on the highway in seconds. Very highly recommend.

There is no better choice than this Hyatt if you attend a convention or a meeting in the McCormick Place Conventin Center, as was the case of my wife and I.
They have two direct passages to South and West buildings (a skybridge), and it is a real pleasure to leisurely walk to your meeting straight from breakfast while everybody else is rushing from downtown by shuttle bus, Metra train or taxi with coats and umbrellas.
The hotel is not brand new, but it is in good shape. They are presently building a new tower, according to a video they were showing in the lobby it will be half the height of the present one. We received a message from the booking organization waring us of the ongoing works, but we did not experience any inconvenience.
We had asked for a room facing North (downtown view), on a high floor, away from vending machines and elevators. They satisfied the last three conditions, and the view toward South is not bad, including a slice of Lake Michigan and the lights of Gary, IN (I think) at night.
The room and bathroom were mostly OK, large enough, but not particularly spacious, a little bit worn, with the usual complement of amenities. A couple of things that we missed were a safe in the room and free Wi-Fi. They have a free safe deposit in the lobby, with bank-like procedures, a little cumbersome altogether. For Wi-Fi you have to pay 8-10 US$ per day, but if you are in for a convention you could have free access at the Convention Center.
Available services include concierge, a small business center with printers, copiers, PCs etc, and a couple of very convenient PCs in the lobby for printing boarding passes. On the 4th floor you can find the fitness center (with small pool, not tested), various vending machines, a microwave oven and some washing machines.
Buffet breakfast (not included in our package, but reasonably priced) at the Shor restaurant was very good, bordering on excellent. A short-order cook makes omelettes, and the buffet has great bacon, sausages, eggs and a daily rotation of pancakes/blintzes/french toast/waffles. Good smoked salmon and a limited choice of cheese on the cold side. Don't miss the compote, just apple, pear and sultana with star anise, a real treat when properly cooked.
In conclusion, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is a very convenient and comfortable choice when you have business at the Convention Center, and we will certainly chose it again for our next meeting there.

Stayed 4 nights for a cancer meeting at McCormick place. If you are not a gold passport member, sign up at the front desk when checking in because this will give you free Internet for the duration of your stay. If you have more than 1 device, I had 3 (laptop , iPad , and iPhone) you need the premium Internet service which is $15 per day. So by signing up for an account , I saved $60 in Internet fees.

The room was but dated but not too bad, although I wishes they had a inroom safe. The walls are paper thin, I could hear regular conversation from the next room.

Food: the buffet restaurant for breakfast was overpriced and greasy. The pizza/sandwich shop next to it was much better. Nice thin crust pizza and panini.

Service: the front desk staff and concierge were excellent. The wait for cabs around dinner time was around 30-45 minutes, they did try to steer away the non hotel guests from the cab line but still it was miserable.

If you are here for business at McCormick place, it's convenient. Of you are planning a visit for leisure, the Hyatt Regency on Wacker drive is much closer to attractions and restaurants.

The Hyatt McCormick is in perfect location to McCormick Place convention center. But if you need anything downtown prepare for a cab ride. Rooms were clean, Staff was very friendly and helpful. This is my favorite Hyatt.
