Wonderful hotel if you are on business, charging everything to a company expense report! We liked the breakfast and location. Comfortable rooms and great staff...but not family friendly. THERE'S NO POOL!!!

Room Tip: River view worth the upgrade!

I stayed here with my 11 month old while my wife attended a conference at the hotel June 8-12. The hotel is very business like. This isn't the sort of place we would stay if we were paying for the hotel instead of my wife's employer. Room was very comfortable as we stayed on the 24th floor in the west tower. There is a fire station next to the hotel but wasn't too distracting. It is located on the Chicago river, 1 block of the magnificant mile. Navy Pier is a mile walk and easy to get to. Easy walking distance to the "L" trains. Bus stop to the zoo is on Michigan AVE, very close to hotel. Easy walking distance to many places to eat, including Wildberry Cafe (where we ate breakfast everyday). The hotel is typical for a business traveler. A few restaurants and bars which aren't cheap. The hotel's workout facility was awesome. It contained headphones, towels and treadmills with personalized tvs. Internet in the room is not free which I think is ridiculous for ANY hotel considering the technological advanced world we live in.

The hotel was very nice, Easy check-in and great rooms. i went with a group of people for tbox 2012 (pub crawl in Wrigleyville) Pretty fun if you dont mind the cold weather and large amounts of people. Good location to shops and restaurants.

My husband and I stayed here on 6/23 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. At check in, the front office agent (Mariah S) kindly upgraded our room to a suite after finding out that we were there to celebrate our anniversary! This was definitely a big bonus, since the room was HUGE, clean and had a prefect view of the city/river. But, she didn't stop there, when we returned from dinner, there was a bottle of champiagne with chocolate covered strawberries along with a hand written card waiting for us! I was blown away by this superb service and I want to thank Mariah for going the extra mile to make this weekend very special for us. I would DEFINITELYcome here again next year for our anniversary! Thank you Hyatt for great service!

I stayed here for a conference for 5 days. Had a great time. Great location and lively place. Rooms are great and have all the amenities. Lot of food choices within the hotel. Although I will recommend checking out great restaurants nearby. Close to Lake Michigan with its awesome views.

If I have to complain about anything it will be the elevators. Sometime had to wait a long time. Although the reason could be couple of other conferences at the same time.

Stayed there in June 2013. Clean comfortable and excellent location. Right on the Chicago River and close to all the shopping on Michigan avenue. Internet connection speeds were pretty good and the breakfast was decent as well. Rooms are clean, bathrooms are OK average for this class.

Good hotel to stay at if you have business to conduct in downtown Chicago.

The only downside i see are the lines for the elevators between 5 and 6 pm. Since my room was on the 8th floor i took the stairs a few times as the wait times were greater than 15 minutes sometimes.

I stayed here on business for 6 nights in June and was impressed with this hotel. There was a lot of attention to detail in the service provided and the amenities and facilities in the rooms and the hotel as a whole. Everything went very smoothly and there was lots of little add-ons that made the stay extremely convenient. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, with a large, well-appointed bathroom, wardrobe, safe, lounge chairs, good TV, large window with blackout curtains for a great night's sleep, and very comfortable bed and pillows.
There are a lot of food options in the hotel, with several different restaurants and bars available, but these are not bargains. Breakfast in particular is expensive for what is on offer, however that is true of almost every hotel!
The location of the hotel is just excellent - might by Michigan Ave right on the south side of the river. It's an easy walk to Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and lots of great shops and restaurants. The surrounding building looks stunning lit up at night - I'll post a photo.
I highly recommend this hotel for a business stay, or for a tourist who doesn't mind spending some extra money for a more luxurious stay.
