I picked this location because it is close to a concert venue I has going to that night. Hotel shuttle dropped me off at the venue but it wasn't running when the show was over. I took a taxi back to the hotel which was right outside venue. Check in was easy and I used a AAA discount on a room and valet parking package. Only valet parking is available which usually costs $46 a night. Room was very nicely furnished. Only complaint would be loud slamming doors early in the morning and loud talking housekeepers. I know it was them because their storage room was right across from mine. I didn't go to the bar or restaurant so I can't comment on those. I'll return to this property if there's another concert I want to go to.

Room tip: Request room away from elevator lobby and housekeepers room.

Stayed overnight to watch our daughter play at UIC. Glad I had hotel points, as it is pricey to stay here!
Lovely hotel, room was immaculate, beds were amazing (though very high for a short person like me! haha). Always a little disgruntled when I see fees to park at ANY hotel. Makes me crazy - and $45??? As such, we took train and walked. Otherwise, a really nice property.

This Marriott is basically the only convenient option for anybody needing to be in the area of Rush. Second stay and similar to the first--generally good property with a few quirks. Rooms are typical size with mini-fridge, coffee/tea maker, modern TV and tons of ways to connect/charge. You can hear hall noise and doors closing but little noise from outside. Parking is expensive but it is Chicago. The idea that a major chain charging near $300/night still wants you to pay additional for internet is a joke but, if you ask nicely, one of the people at the desk may give you the access code. Only tried the restaurant for breakfast and the first day was a disaster as our order never showed up and we were crushed for time. Thankfully the restaurant manager comped the buffet so we could eat and run. Second day the service was excellent and the food delivered fast. The buffet claims to have an omelet station but we never saw a chef there, so maybe you have to ask? They run a shuttle to Rush/UIC, the sports arena, and Little Italy (which is less than a 10 minute walk if you want choices for dinner). Overall this hotel has been solid and unchanging over the past two visits which were three years apart.

Nice hotel, clean, great staff.Very friendly and knowledgeable about surrounding area.
I cam for a work conf at the McCormick downtown. The show provided a shuttle from the hotel entrance right to McCormick place, so that is a big bonus, as I DO NOT like to drive around Chicago anywhere NEAR morning or afternoon rush. The valets were very nice and quick with your car, but $45 per night for parking seems way overpriced. This alone would cause me to look elsewhere, if I were personally paying for a stay. The Taylor street restaurants were many and varied, Within walking distance (few blocks) had a few decent meals there, but nothing to rave about.
This area is a little too close to (actually considered) the west side for my taste. While jogging a few miles, it it easy to see the areas that you should not venture into, simply turn around and head back towards the university. Did not eat at in-house restaurant, prices are about what you would expect from a hotel bar / restaurant i.e. overpriced, but convenient.

Overall Hotel was nice and staff was friendly. Minor nits: hotel carpet and decor seemed a bit dated and carpets in halls need some help... breakfast buffet was great! Also other items - the toilet seat doesnt stay up on it's own and the flusher handle is way under the counter making it oddly placed. otherwise good place decent location.
