“Excellent Customer Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014 via mobile

Hosted a meeting at this downtown Chicago hotel and definitely will host another here due to the wonderful customer service. My every wish and whim was taken care of with a smile....everyone from the staff at the front desk to the folks that set up my meeting rooms....I couldn't be happier! I was assigned a corner room on the 36th floor overlooking the river....beautiful view, spacious room....only complaint was that the AC could have been better. There was no way to cool off my room with a thermostat. That also was the main complaint in the meeting rooms....way too hot! Reception food and beverages was wonderful...again, service perfect! Thanks to everyone for making my stay memorable!

We stayed in a 1 BR Wyndham timeshare last weekend. It's been recently renovated. Looked like the "property brothers" from HGTV had just redone it. The only downside were the downtown Chicago sirens & fire trucks in the middle of the night. We'll be back though.

Room Tip: 1907 had a beautiful view of the Chicago River.

Hello--
Thank you so much for your review and compliments. I apologize for the noise issues; unfortunately they are somewhat unavoidable due to our central downtown location. We thank you for staying with us and look forward to welcoming you back very soon!

This was the perfect place to stay in terms of location when we were in town for a concert at the Chicago Theater, which was like two blocks away. We were pretty much right across the street from the river which offered a nice view from our room, however there was a lot of construction on the river with the noise starting very early in the morning. Definitely not the hotel's fault, but just something to keep in mind with this general location along the river right now. The bathroom was very large and nice and the shower was really great with a rain shower head. It was a bit tricky to find as some GPS navigators will get you stuck on lower Wacker Drive when the hotel is actually on Upper Wacker Drive. We eventually had to call and were guided in very quickly by the very friendly and knowledgeable concierge who also provided us with a nice option for a nearby location to watch the Blackhawks playoff game upon our arrival.

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor to help with the traffic and current construction noises.

My husband and I stayed here May 3 through 7. The front desk staff's service upon our arrival was excellent. We had an early flight, so we showed up at the hotel to check in early. Our request was immediately taken care of without any trouble at all. We were also offered and accepted the upgrade to a corner river view room. It was absolutely stunning! The room was clean and spacious, and the views blew our minds. Every member of the hotel staff that we encountered couldn't have been more pleasant, from the front desk to the door staff to housekeeping - just top notch all the way around. Then, of course, there's the location right in the center of all the action. There are fine dining establishments as well as more affordable restaurants within walking distance. The start of the Magnificent Mile is also literally just steps away from the hotel's front door. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Accept the offer of a river view room - it's worth it!

My wife and I decided for a mini vacation to Chicago and we picked the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront as the hotel for our adventure. The hotel I am guessing was rebranded as the Wyndham from its previous name of Hotel 71. The hotel is nice but you can see that some things were a little worn around the edges. The hotel has a gym but no pool and has valet parking for a fee.
We arrived a little early but our room was ready so we were able to drop off the luggage and start sightseeing right away. Our room was on the 38th floor looking south, the view was not too bad but I am sure the river side would have been nicer. The room was very large and had all the prerequisite amenities, a small bar fridge, Keurig coffee maker, desk and sofa. The beds were comfortable. The washroom was large but the drain on our tub was very slow to drain. We told the front desk so it should be fixed by now. The room was clean but you could see wear and tear on some things, some chipped paint and a door lock that was missing screws and was loose.
The hotel is a short walk from the Blue Line L-train. It is the most cost effective way to get to the hotel from Ohare. It is $5 from the airport to the downtown core and $3 back to the airport.
For the tourist the hotel is right across the river from the Architectural river tour next to the Trump tower and is right around the corner from the Magnificent Mile shopping and a short walk to Millennium park. It is a bit more of a walk to Navy Pier, but is also close to the House of Blues and other touristy things.
In this city $200 dollars a night is middle of the road and is much better than what you would pay in New York for half the room.
All in all it is a good hotel with a very good location for a price that is within the price bracket of Chicago.

Room Tip: Work on the lot on the south side can be heard in the 38th floor southern rooms (opposite side of th...

OK, this is the deal, you want to be in the middle of everything and walking distance of the nicest places in Chicago? THIS is your spot, don't mind the price tho cause ain't cheap, but the views and the locations are magnificencents. The service is as good as any other place you go and pay over 200 USD per night, the bar is cute and the rooms are comfy and clean. Amenities are Beth bath and body works which for a pal like me is a plus and the showers are so relaxing. Stay if you can afford cause at the end of a long day in Chicago what you need is a bed and this ones are fine but nothing rememberable.

Room Tip: Cornet view (end with 14) ;)
