I purchased the Groupon for this hotel which was $109/night for a king riverview room. When we checked in, the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Although a high-rise, you still get the quaint feel of a boutique hotel. The lobby and onsite restaurant (Hoyt) had great modern and comfortable furniture. The room itself had a marvalous view from the 32nd floor. Bed was super comfy, as was the chaise lounge. Like other reviewers said, the walls are a little thin and the bathroom could use some updating (mainly the tub as it was VERY slow to drain after showering), but these things didn't bother me too much to ruin my stay. The staff responded quickly to my request for more towels and I loved having a Keurig in the room. Unfortunately, we had a very busy weekend, so we didn't spend a lot of time there. But I'd love to go back, especially at that price.

Few tips: The attached garage is $45/night. But you can park at the open lot right next to the hotel for about $28/night. We parked our car and walked or took the bus wherever we needed to go, and cabbed it when it got too late.

But the location is optimal, great for those who want to shop/dine/play on Mag. Mile and come back to their room to rest and/or refuel. Also great locale to reach the parks for the Taste of Chicago or other events. Wish they had a pool, but oh well..the beaches in Chicago are a great substitute.

The restaurant at the hotel next door Bacino's also makes a decent deep dish pizza. And try the Corner Bakery (1 min away) or Yolk (5 minute cab/bus ride) for great breakfast alternatives.

Room Tip: Ask for a riverview room on upper floors

Stayed here June 2011, got a deal thru lastminutetravel.com, hotel staff was very nice and helpful with suggestions and places to visit while in the city. Room was great, we had a riverside view room, view was awesome, room was nice, clean and spacious. The location was right where we wanted to be, close to Michigan Ave (half a block) easy walking distance to alot of places of interest. The double decker trolley bus had a stop right across the street from hotel. I will definitley stay here the next time I am in Chicago. The only down side is they don't have a refridgerater in the room, other than that its a great place to stay. Hotel valet parking was $45 a night, expensive yes, but seems to be about the going rate in the city.

Actually, there is not much to say except that the location and view is very very good.
We did not use any facilities except internet and never tried the restaurant in the evening or at lunch. Staff members were polite and friendly.
Something interesting happened, though: At checkout we an envelope with information that we should have had at checkin !!?

We stayed for two nights midweek. Location was good for being in the middle of things and just a two block walk from the orange line station to/from Midway airport. Room was adequate size but I would not consider it big as others have posted. We did have a corner city view room that gave us a decent view of the river. Bed was very comfortable. Bath was fine with great water pressure though water not very hot in my opinion. The air conditioner did work but it didn't cool the room as much as I like (I like it cold). The on premise restaurant, Hoyt's, was busy and seemed popular with a younger crowd. They have comfortable outdoor seating that looked inviting but we didn't get a chance to enjoy it. The restaurant 'Catch 35' is a few blocks away and we really enjoyed their late evening bar menu and the ambiance. We felt the hotel was fine, nothing special. We'll try another of the many hotel choices next time. If you can get a great rate for this hotel though, do it! Travel Zoo is running a summer special for $119( I think) and it's worth that! Oh, and if you're planning on going to the Shedd Aquarium, the desk has tickets for $31 that give you immediate access. We were really glad that we bought them at the hotel. The line was REALLY long on a Tuesday morn and it was really hot out. Well worth the extra money not to have to wait a long time in the heat and waste much of our valuable and brief vacation time.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room.

This hotel was clean, beautiful, and the view from our river view room was fabulous! We watched the bridges going up and down for the boats; the Memorial Day parade staging area; the Wrigley Building and Trump Tower; and the city lights. The rooms were huge, and the location can't be beat. Just off Michigan Avenue at Wacker. We walked everywhere and had a great time. The parking was typically high priced but we got a deal on the hotel so it hurt less.

We stayed here for one night with our two kids, as they hotel could not accommodate both nights of our stay during a recent road trip. Like just about everything else in Chicago, the prices were steep. We were expecting more for the price we paid, but found only typical accommodations.

We liked the location, the friendly and helpful bellhops, the views from our room and the top floor ballroom, and in and out privileges for the parking. We missed not having a mini fridge, and felt that having only one chair in a deluxe room with two queen beds was a miss even though there was plenty of room for more comfortable seating. The valet staff was slow to bring our car at checkout. There were no others waiting, and no new arrivals, yet it took them 20 minutes to get our car to us.

Nothing but problems since checking in. They could not provide the room I booked. The phone and TV didn't work. Room and bathroom and huge but the bath is only big enough for a 2 year old. Rooms don't come with fridges???? Although they happlier provided a fridge they only have a limited amount so there is no guarantee you will get one. Staff were very helpful but would have been better to get things right the first time!
